The officer, identified only as D49, said in his witness statement: "I saw a black male running at me waving both his hands in the air in a chopping motion. In his right hand I saw what I call a meat cleaver or a machete.

"I instantly thought 'he's going to kill me'.”

She added: “I could still see the look in the suspect's eyes. They were so wide and I could see the whites of them. He was shouting something."

The statement was read out by prosecutor Richard Whittam QC as the jury watched CCTV footage of the dramatic moment police arrived at the Woolwich scene, where Fusilier Lee Rigby had been run over and hacked to death minutes earlier.

In a matter of seconds, two of the D49’s colleagues, who were in the car with her, had shot both Adebolajo and his co-accused Michael Adebowale, 22 while she tasered Adebowale.

I can understand why covert agents (police or MI5) might have their identity concealed. I cannot see why an ordinary police officer is given anonymity like this. The only explanation I can imagine, is that the police fear they will become targets of muslim terrorists. I guess the courts and the media must share (and respect) those fears, since they are not commenting on this bizarre anonymity.

I caught 20 mins of an ITV "documentary" tonight on "the untold story". After 5 mins on Anjem Choudary and Omar Bakri Mohammed, then a couple of minutes on how the police/MI5/immigration agencies failed to notice Mujahid Abu Hamza going to Kenya to join Al Shabaab in 2010, the program spent all the rest of the time travelling around Kenya and Somalia.

Nothing about islam. Nothing about Adebelajo saying he was copying Mohammed. That was the untold elephant in the room.

Instead they had a journalist and entire TV crew travelling round Kenya and Somalia, when it was clear that the explanation had to precede Adebelajo/Abu Hamza getting on a plane to Kenya.

I gave up after 20 mins.

In all the reporting of the trial, all the insistence that islam had nothing to do with it, I don't remember ever hearing about this hand-written note. Isn't that astonishing? Consider that journalists poured over the 1300 pages of Breivik's manifesto, and condemned those referred to therein. Here is just 1 page written by the killers, and no journalists have discussed its contents, nor condemned islam by association.

Michael Adebowale and Michael Adebolajo were found guilty of murder yesterday at the Old Bailey for the killing of Fusilier Lee Rigby last May in Woolwich. Bloodstained notes written by Michael Adebolajo were used as evidence in the trial. The references to the Koran at the bottom of the notes include numerous exhortations to be obedient, to fight in the way of Allah, to “Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you” (9:123), and to “fight the minions of the devil” (4:76). They also include a verse directed specifically against Christians (9:31).

Nick of The Frozen North has taken the trouble to dig out all the cited verses. He includes this note:

Adebolajo is reported to have given a passerby a handwritten note at the scene of the crime. You’ll notice the references at the end of the note to verses in the Koran.

The verses are reproduced them below in the order Adebolajo, a.k.a. Mujahid Abu Hamza, has them at the bottom of his “manifesto” (I have used Marmaduke Pickthall’s translation which is, I believe, in the public domain and is freely available on the internet).

The Koranic verses cited by Michael Adebolajo:

Group 1: 4:69-76, 4:84, 9:41.

69 Whoso obeyeth Allah and the messenger, they are with those unto whom Allah hath shown favour, of the prophets and the saints and the martyrs and the righteous. The best of company are they!

So, it appears that devout, "honourable" jihadi Mujahid Abu Hamza was not above trying to force a girl he'd raped into his car, 2 days before he killed Lee Rigby.

What could explain such behaviour from this deeply religious man? Was it that following his martyrdom, Allah would forgive him for raping a kuffar?

To the Old Bailey, to stand by the Central Criminal Court to await the sentencing of Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale, convicted of the murderer of Fusilier Lee Rigby in May last year. Since the abolition of the death penalty for murder in England and Wales in 1965 conviction of murder carries a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment. However, hopeful that any convict can show remorse and be rehabilitated, many 'lifers' can be and are eligible for parole after a sufficient number of years. So on sentencing the Judge will declare how many years they should serve before parole (assuming they do show remorse and a desire to reform) can be considered. In some notorious cases a 'whole life' tariff has been imposed; this sentence has been challenged recently as against a convicted prisoners human rights. Sentencing of Lee Rigby's murderers was delayed while the Court of Appeal considered several challenges to the imposition of a whole life tariff. The court declared them lawful in January.

The EDL, with members of the Casuals and March for England gathered in good time.

The BNP were there first and later the delegation for Britain First arrived. Members of SEA were also in attendance. The EDL, Casuals and MfE, mindful of the seriousness of the occasion were mainly silent, in the area set aside for us, or in small groups about the street. The Rigby family had made it known that pictures of the murderers were particualrly distressing for the family; therefore pictures of Fusilier Rigby himself in uniform were much in evidence.

By contrast the BNP were very vocal and focused on their campaign to reintroduce the death penalty, emphasising the point by use of two portable gallows.

Adebolajo and Adebowale identified Lee Rigby as a soldier and suitable victim in part by his Help for Heroes sweatshirt. In the weeks after many people bought them to support the charity and as an act of solidarity.

It was cold, but dry for once. Sentencing was due to take place at 2pm but we heard that it was to be put back until 4.30pm. We heard that the lawyers for Adebowale the younger of the two males, were arguing that he should not face a whole life term as his youth (age 22) means that he has a greater prospect of rehabilitation.

Britain First and the BNP decided to take up a position outside the main entrance and eventually traffic could no longer pass so the police shut the road. The cement mixer lorry had to reverse out - very impressive!

While I find the BNP's position on skin colour and 'race' abhorrent I did find myself in agreement with their argument that this crime should have been charged as treason. Of course since 1998 Treason no longer carries the death penalty either.

As time went on members of the public, and city workers of all occupations joined the waiting crowd. All afternoon I had heard passers by or customers in the cafe say to each other 'They should never leave prison' or 'They should hang'.
Anxious court officials and barristers were observing the demonstration from the windows above the main entrance. It will do them, and the policy makers and members of the governing classes no harm whatsoever to see the strength of public opinion on this.

We then heard that the sentencing had been put back again until 4.50pm. Some were following the news live updates via mobile devices, others were receiving messages from family at home via TV news.

We heard that Adebolajo and Adebowale had entered the court shouting Allah Akbar. That they struggled with the dock officers and that Adebolajo called the judge, Mr Justice Sweeney a liar and declared that the UK and the US would never be safe. They were taken down to the cells from where their shouts could still be heard in the courtroom, where the proceedings continued in their absence.

A cheer went up when we heard that Michael Adebolajo had been sentenced to life imprisonment, for his whole life, and Michael Adebowale to life imprisonment to serve a minimum of 45 years. He will be aged 67 before he could be considered for parole.

We decided to make our way quietly home. As I made my way into Newgate Street the police were clearing the pavements and stopping the traffic so that the two prisoners could leave the court to be taken back to prison. From a nearby shop I was able to observe two secure vans with police escort leaving the vehicle security gate.

Extracts from the Judge's sentencing remarks

It is no exaggeration to say that what the two of you did resulted in a bloodbath. Aspects of all this were seen, as they were intended to be, by members of the public. . . You both gloried in what you had done. . . In addition, carrying the bloodied cleaver in your equally bloody hands, and knowing that you were being filmed, you made a political statement.

Your sickening and pitiless conduct was in stark contrast to the compassion and bravery shown by the various women at the scene who tended to Lee Rigby's body and who challenged what you had done and said.

...neither of you, I am sure, has any real insight into the enormity of what you did, nor any genuine remorse for it either - only regret that you did not succeed in your plan to be shot dead, which has resulted in you being brought to justice before the courts.

Equally you, Adebolajo, who I have observed at length, have (I am sure) no real prospect of rehabilitation.

Mission Overview

Most Western societies are based on Secular Democracy, which itself is based on the concept that the open marketplace of ideas leads to the optimum government. Whilst that model has been very successful, it has defects. The 4 Freedoms address 4 of the principal vulnerabilities, and gives corrections to them.

At the moment, one of the main actors exploiting these defects, is Islam, so this site pays particular attention to that threat.

Islam, operating at the micro and macro levels, is unstoppable by individuals, hence: "It takes a nation to protect the nation". There is not enough time to fight all its attacks, nor to read them nor even to record them. So the members of 4F try to curate a representative subset of these events.

We need to capture this information before it is removed. The site already contains sufficient information to cover most issues, but our members add further updates when possible.

We hope that free nations will wake up to stop the threat, and force the separation of (Islamic) Church and State. This will also allow moderate Muslims to escape from their totalitarian political system.

The 4 Freedoms

These 4 freedoms are designed to close 4 vulnerabilities in Secular Democracy, by making them SP or Self-Protecting (see Hobbes's first law of nature). But Democracy also requires - in addition to the standard divisions of Executive, Legislature & Judiciary - a fourth body, Protector of the Open Society (POS), to monitor all its vulnerabilities (see also Popper).
1. SP Freedom of Speech
Any speech is allowed - except that advocating the end of these freedoms
2. SP Freedom of Election
Any party is allowed - except one advocating the end of these freedoms
3. SP Freedom from Voter Importation
Immigration is allowed - except where that changes the political demography (this is electoral fraud)
4. SP Freedom from Debt
The Central Bank is allowed to create debt - except where that debt burden can pass across a generation (25 years).

An additional Freedom from Religion is deducible if the law is applied equally to everyone:

Religious and cultural activities are exempt from legal oversight except where they intrude into the public sphere (Res Publica)"
