A rising leader in the radical Islamic movement in Egypt that has become a major political player since the demise of Hosni Mubarak's regime says Christian churches may need to be blown up and Christians exterminated to allow the advance of Islamic law, or Shariah.

The comments come from Sheik 'Adel Shehato, a senior leader with the Egyptian Islamic Jihad terrorist group. The sheik was jailed in 1991 because of his positions but was released earlier this year in the revolution that removed Mubarak from power.

His interview with the Egyptian daily Roz Al-Yousef wastranslated by the Middle East Media Research Institute.

What's up with Islam? Read "Everlasting Hatred: The Roots of Jihad"...

The sheik, a senior jihadist leader, responded to a question about using violence against Christians, who make up a substantial minority in Egypt.

"Are you against blowing up churches?" the newspaper interviewer asked Shehato.

"Yes and no," he replied. "The Christian is free to worship his God in his church, but if the Christians make problems for the Muslims, I will exterminate them. I am guided by the Shariah, and it stipulates that they must pay the jizya tax while in a state of humiliation."

"These positions of yours frighten us, as Egyptians," the interviewer said.

"I will not act [in ways] that contradict my faith just in order to please the people. ... We say to the Christians, convert to Islam or pay the jizya, otherwise we will fight you. The Shariah is not based on logic but on divine law. That is why we oppose universal, manmade constitutions."

MEMRI, which was founded in 1998 to monitor Middle East media,is an independent, nonpartisan nonprofit group that has offices in Washington, London, Rome, Jerusalem, Baghdad, Shanghai and Tokyo.

Advisers include winners of Nobels, the President Medal of Freedom and the U.S. Congress Gold Medal, such as Elie Wiesel, James Woolsey, John Bolton, John Ashcroft, William Bennett, Paul Bremer, Alan Dershowitz and Edgar Bronfman.

Among the many assertions made by the senior Islamic leader was that the Egyptian pyramids need to be closed down to tourists.

"There will be tourism for purposes of [medical] treatment, but the tourism sites of the pyramids, the Sphinx, and Sharm Al-Sheikh will be shut down, because my task is to get people to serve Allah rather than people. No proud Muslim will ever be willing to live off tourism profits, because the tourists come to drink alcohol and fornicate. [If they] want to come, they must comply with the conditions and laws of Islam. We will explain to them that, according to the Shariah, the pyramids are [from] a pagan and polytheistic age."

He continued with a description of the new state of arts and culture in Egypt, should he be in power.

"In Islam, there is no such thing as art. Painting, singing, and dancing are forbidden. Therefore, in the state there will be nothing but Islamic culture, for I cannot teach the infidel culture. … We will return to the decent culture of the Muslims and the Muslim forefathers, and to Islamic history," he said.

The far-reaching interview included his plans for worldwide government.

"As Muslims, we must believe that the Quran is our constitution, and that it is impossible for us to institute a Western democratic regime," he said. "I oppose democracy because it is not the faith of the Muslims. … According to Islam, it is forbidden for people to rule and to legislate laws, as Allah alone is ruler. Allah did not hand down the term [democracy] as a form of rule, and it is completely absent from the Arab and Islamic lexicon."

He said, "Once Allah's law is instated (sic), the role of the people will end and Allah will reign supreme."

A leader like himself would have no need to know what people want, he said.

"There is no consultation [by government leaders] with commoners, such as workers and fellahin, nor is there consultation over issues that contravene the Shariah," he said.

Muslims such as Mubarak who led Islamic nations but without strict adherence to Shariah were apostate, he warned.

"They are apostate infidels, as opposed to infidels like the Jews and Christians, and anyone who doubts that they are infidels is an infidel," he said.

Especially, he warned, Muslims must be wary of Christians and cannot be friends.

"I must support the Muslim and oppose the Christian," he said. "If there is a Christian who does me no harm, I will maintain limited contact with him. Islam [discusses] certain degrees of contact with the Christian, namely: keeping promises, dealing honestly with him, treating him kindly, and befriending him. The first three are allowed, but the fourth is deemed dangerous, for it contravenes the verse that says, 'O you who believe! Do not take my enemy and your enemy for friends…"

A worldwide Islamic kingdom, he explained, is a given.

"Of course we will launch a campaign of Islamic conquest throughout the world. As soon as the Muslim and Islam control Egypt and implement the Sharia, we will turn to the neighboring regions, Libya and Sudan to the south. All the Muslims in the world who wish to see the Shariah implemented worldwide will join the Egyptian army in order to form Islamic battalions, whose task will be to bring about the victory …

He said international relations will be simple.

"There are Muslims and there are infidels. We will have ambassadors in every country. We want to call all other countries to join Islam, and that will be the task of the ambassadors. If [they] refuse, there will be war," he said.

WND previously reportedjihadists are boasting of the "paradise" the region is becoming since Mubarak was removed from power.

Additionally, there have been reports of aon a growing possibly jihadi threat not only inside the United Stat...

This story didn,t get much attension at the time but is starting to ring true. The implimentation of sharia in some form is now the main talking point of Egypt. Like there can be 'some form of sharia'.

This it the media's delusional "arab spring".  This guy sounds as demented as the muslim terrorists (and as demented as 40% of muslim students in Britain).

Well, if Egypt goes the route of the Taliban, they will attempt to blow up the pyramids.  That should make the blinkered western liberals sit up and take notice.  I'm sure if Mohammed's army had had dynamite 1300 years ago, then the pyramids would have bee put a fable by now.

When the Taliban destroyed the Bamiyan Buddhas, that was the time that Afghanistan should have been nuked.  You can be damn sure that none of these individual acts of terrorism would be carried out, if the instigator's land of origin was nuked off the face of the earth.

.

Pictures from egypt of a pile of former pyramids. That would wake a few people up. Not sure that they will though as they,re not human idols.  It,ll end up like Dubai, people from the west will pay to go out there, break some stupid islamic law and end up in prison and thrashed. And still people will pay to go there.

As for the destroying of the Bamiyam Buddhas. That should have been a warning to all those that think Islam can create anything. It is the destroryer of all things!.

A) Napoleon's troops shot the nose off the Sphinx in 1798:

B) British troops shot the nose off the Sphinx during:

D) German troops shot the nose off the Sphinx during World War II.

E) The Mamelukes shot the nose off the Sphinx.

F) Arab conquerors knocked the nose off the Sphinx in 693.

G) The Sphinx nose, after being stolen by Maimonedes, has been hidden in Israel, and was smuggled out to Temple Beth Abraham in Beverly Hills, where rich jews from all over the USA go and visit it once a year and do the hora.

G) An Islamic cleric, Sa'im al-dahr, had the nose knocked off the Sphinx in 1378.

The massive creature gazes with large and almost scary eyes eastward toward the equinox. While the face is intact, the nose is missing. A large gash across the face appears to have been caused by an explosive device, possibly a shell, that removed the nose. Was that an accidental strike, or was it done on purpose? :Louis Farrakhan once said he believed the damage had racial undertones, and that the nose was blown away by whites who were angry that the nose of the Sphinx was Negroid.
Napolean has been blamed, as have British and German forces during the great wars, although there is no record of this being true. Historical record notes that both Arab conquerors and Sa'im al-dahr damaged the Sphinx. Writings of Sa'im al-dahr specifically mention the nose.

The one-meter-wide nose on the face is missing. Examination of the Sphinx's face shows that long rods or chisels were hammered into the nose, one down from the bridge and one beneath the nostril, then used to pry the nose off towards the south.

The Egyptian Arab historian al-Maqrīzī, writing in the 15th century AD, attributes the loss of the nose to iconoclasm by Muhammad Sa'im al-Dahr, a Sufi Muslim from the khanqah of Sa'id al-Su'ada. In AD 1378, upon finding the Egyptian peasants making offerings to the Sphinx in the hope of increasing their harvest, Sa'im al-Dahr was so outraged that he destroyed the nose, and was hanged for vandalism. Al-Maqrīzī describes the Sphinx as the "talisman of the Nile" on which the locals believed the flood cycle depended.

'Muhammad Sa'im al-Dahr, a Sufi Muslim' ; those peace-loving sufis, representatives of moderate Islam.

With the growing boldness and State power of the Muslim Brotherhood, the period of darkness (jahiliyyah) will come to an end. (Q 5:50)

'They [Christians and Jews] are also at war with Islamic society because of the inherent conflict between the codes of living derived from the divine faith on the one hand and ignorance, or jahiliyyah, on the other. As described in these verses, the people of earlier revelations belong to jahiliyyah in both beliefs and practices.' Sayyid Qutb (D. 1966), In the Shade of the Qur'an, vol. 8: Surah 9

Abu Simbel (Arabic أبو سنبل or أبو سمبل) an archaeological site comprising two massive rock temples in southern Egypt on the western bank of Lake Nasser about 290 km southwest of Aswan. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the "Nubian Monuments", which run from Abu Simbel downriver to Philae (near Aswan).

The twin temples were originally carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II in the 13th century BC, as a lasting monument to himself and his queen Nefertari, to commemorate his alleged victory at the Battle of Kadesh, and to intimidate his Nubian neighbors. However, the complex was relocated in its entirety in the 1960s, on an artificial hill made from a domed structure, high above the Aswan dam reservoir.

The relocation of the temples was necessary to avoid their being submerged during the creation of Lake Nasser, the massive artificial water reservoir formed after the building of the Aswan dam on the Nile River.

(Ramesses II,)Temple remains one of Egypt's top tourist attractions.

This temple was constructed nearly 2000 years before Islam ever existed, yet the cannot call it the Temple of Ramesses 11

Construction of the temple complex started in approximately 1284 BC and lasted for circa 20 years, until 1264 BC. Known as the "Temple of Ramses, beloved by Amun", it was one of six rock temples erected in Nubia during the long reign of Ramses II. Their purpose was to impress Egypt's southern neighbours, and also to reinforce the status of Egyptian religion in the region, and it was not Islam

With the passage of time, the temples fell into disuse and eventually became covered by sand. Already in the 6th century BC, the sand covered the statues of the main temple up to their knees. The temple was forgotten until 1813, when Swiss orientalist JL Burckhardt found the top frieze of the main temple. Burckhardt talked about his discovery with Italian explorer Giovanni Belzoni, who travelled to the site, but was unable to dig out an entry to the temple. Belzoni returned in 1817, this time succeeding in his attempt to enter the complex. He took everything valuable and portable with him. Tour guides at the site relate the legend that "Abu Simbel" was a young local boy who guided these early re-discoverers to the site of the buried temple which he had seen from time to time in the shifting sands. Eventually, they named the complex after him: Abu Simbel.

Today, thousands of tourists visit the temples daily. Guarded convoys of buses and cars depart twice a day from Aswan, the nearest city. The convoys are guarded because moslems in the area have a nasty habit of murdering tourists who wish too see this non islamic wonder

The pyramids have stood for thousands of years. How much longer can they last? would the brotherhood dare allow, or indeed encourage the destruction of the Worlds most famous landmarks.

The calls for their destruction are coming from muslim leaders of other countries not Morsi. I,m sure the radical leaders would love Egypt to take the lead and show the west that the caliphate is on its way. The only thing that has change in Egypt since the Muslims took charge, is for the first time in history, they acutally have the means to raise the pyramids to th ground.

The artical mentions that its been known for Islam to destroy their pre-islamic heritage. I don't think its their heritage. Surley its Egyptian heritage, and theres not many of them left. Most of the heritage around the world they're destroying is not their's. The muslim leaders now, as in the past, call for the destruction of history. Once that has been completed history will come to an end. History will look the same everyday. The koran, mosques, burkas, FGM, stonning, hanging, a totally insane way of living. A world created by a madman, for madmen.

I'm sure the pyramids won't be coming down anytime soon, but surely it will be a great triumphant for islam the day they are flattened, for it will signal the return to the 7th centry. The ultimate goal of all the great Islamic thinkers.  Afterall, everyday the pyramids stand is a reminder to Islam that they are inferior. A reminder that a civilization 3thousand years before their cult of cult's sprung from the sand and created only death and destruction, there was a people who built a country grander that anything islam has ever achieved, with a landmark that towers over any mosque ever built.

If they could turn the great pyramid into a mosque i'm sure they would. But islam finds it easier to destroy the great and then build something inferior in it's place.  Islam has achieved nothing, everything good history has to say about islam is written by itself and its dhimmis. And it's grandest  Mosque looks like a lego building next to the pyramids.  Allah is greatest? Not while the pyramids tower over her greatest achivements.

Islamists call for the destruction of the pyramids

by Rick Moran of AmericanThinker.com

Ray Ibrahim reports that prominent Islamists in Egypt have begun to call for the destruction of the "pagan" pyramids.

According to several reports in the Arabic media, prominent Muslim clerics have begun to call for the demolition of Egypt's Great Pyramids--or, in the words of Saudi Sheikh Ali bin Said al-Rabi'i, those "symbols of paganism," which Egypt's Salafi party has long planned to cover with wax.    Most recently, Bahrain's "Sheikh of Sunni Sheikhs" and President of National Unity, Abd al-Latif al-Mahmoud, called on Egypt's new president, Muhammad Morsi, to "destroy the Pyramids and accomplish what the Amr bin al-As could not."

This is a reference to the Muslim Prophet Muhammad's companion, Amr bin al-As and his Arabian tribesmen, who invaded and conquered Egypt circa 641.  Under al-As and subsequent Muslim rule, many Egyptian antiquities were destroyed as relics of infidelity.  While most Western academics argue otherwise, according to early Muslim writers, the great Library of Alexandria itself-deemed a repository of pagan knowledge contradicting the Koran-was destroyed under bin al-As's reign and in compliance with Caliph Omar's command.

However, while book-burning was an easy activity in the 7th century, destroying the mountain-like pyramids and their guardian Sphinx was not-even if Egypt's Medieval Mamluk rulers "de-nosed" the latter during target practice (though popular legend naturally attributes it to a Westerner, Napoleon).

Now, however, as Bahrain's "Sheikh of Sheikhs" observes, and thanks to modern technology, the pyramidscan be destroyed.  The only question left is whether Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood president is "pious" enough-if he is willing to complete the Islamization process that started under the hands of Egypt's first Islamic conqueror.

Considering what Islamistst are doing in Mali -- destroying ancient shrines -- it should surprise no one that the fanatics want to blow up 5500 year old monuments to the genius of man.

The problem for the Islamists is that the pyramids are nearly indestructible. The Great Pyramid has more than 2 million blocks each weighing several tons. It would probably take a couple of decades to dismantle and the amount of explosives involved if they want to blow it up staggers the imagination.

But you know the old saying: Where there's a will, there's a way.

Muslim Terrorism Count

Thousands of Deadly Islamic Terror Attacks Since 9/11

Mission Overview

Most Western societies are based on Secular Democracy, which itself is based on the concept that the open marketplace of ideas leads to the optimum government. Whilst that model has been very successful, it has defects. The 4 Freedoms address 4 of the principal vulnerabilities, and gives corrections to them.

At the moment, one of the main actors exploiting these defects, is Islam, so this site pays particular attention to that threat.

Islam, operating at the micro and macro levels, is unstoppable by individuals, hence: "It takes a nation to protect the nation". There is not enough time to fight all its attacks, nor to read them nor even to record them. So the members of 4F try to curate a representative subset of these events.

We need to capture this information before it is removed.  The site already contains sufficient information to cover most issues, but our members add further updates when possible.

We hope that free nations will wake up to stop the threat, and force the separation of (Islamic) Church and State. This will also allow moderate Muslims to escape from their totalitarian political system.

The 4 Freedoms

These 4 freedoms are designed to close 4 vulnerabilities in Secular Democracy, by making them SP or Self-Protecting (see Hobbes's first law of nature). But Democracy also requires - in addition to the standard divisions of Executive, Legislature & Judiciary - a fourth body, Protector of the Open Society (POS), to monitor all its vulnerabilities (see also Popper).
1. SP Freedom of Speech
Any speech is allowed - except that advocating the end of these freedoms
2. SP Freedom of Election
Any party is allowed - except one advocating the end of these freedoms
3. SP Freedom from Voter Importation
Immigration is allowed - except where that changes the political demography (this is electoral fraud)
4. SP Freedom from Debt
The Central Bank is allowed to create debt - except where that debt burden can pass across a generation (25 years).

An additional Freedom from Religion is deducible if the law is applied equally to everyone:

  • Religious and cultural activities are exempt from legal oversight except where they intrude into the public sphere (Res Publica)"
