It takes a nation to protect the nation
Abbreviations: MB = Muslim Brotherhood, TR = Tariq Ramadan.
When our media are telling us that the MB is no longer proposing violence and is not islamist, remember the following points. By 1956 people thought the MB was defunct - yet it is just possible that they are very close to their vision of a pan-national caliphate only 50 years later. They have been a secretive, violent, nazi-inspired organisation from the beginning. They have (and still do) advocate the destruction of Israel.
The first of these books is the most important for grasping what the MB is. It was written by a very sympathetic muslim, at a point in history where the MB was thought to have been destroyed. Thus, he had not reason to pull his punches and pretend the MB was anything other than a combination of Nazism, Salafism and Communism.

Ishak Musa Husaini, The Moslem Brethren - the Greatest of Islamic Movements, Beirut, 1956.
p.vi "Is it worth our while to write a history of the moslem Brethren now that the movement has been ended in Egypt and its future is largely ambiguous?... it greatly resembles the Wahhabi and Sanusi movements and is influenced by the modern traditional (Salaffieh) school... the identification of state with religion, the execution of t Moslem law..."
p.1 Young Men's Moslem Association was started in Cairo in 1927, modeled on the YMCA, and would not be political but would confine itself to the social, cultural, religious and athletic areas. Moslem Brotherhood was founded one year later.
p.2 MB had no association with fascist or nazi organisations, as Al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun fi al-Mizan claimed it had in *The Moslem Brotherhood in the Balance*. Banna was also a member of the YMMA.
p.3 Banna admired the way Turkey abolished political parties. In fact, he admired other countries that abolished political parties: Iraq, Roumania, England. Banna did not copy these other countries, though he was influenced by them.
p.41 6 principles of MB a) scientific explanation of the Koran, b)unify the Egyptian nation and the islamic nations around Koranic principles, c) raising of the financial and social standards of the workers, d) social services against ignorance, disease, poverty and vice, e) "liberation of the Nile valley and all of the Arab countries and all parts of the Islamic fatherland from all foreigners", f) promotion of universal peace and civilization based on islam.
p.42-43 they were supposed to avoid theological disputation and political parties
p.44 "they say that their fatherland is every span of land where there are muslims". They seek to re-establish the Caliphate as the symbol of islamic unity.
p.55 MB wanted to guide women back to their place in domesticity, away from the "pseudo-civilised western impulses". "They decided that this, their movement, should be the first feminist movement established in Egypt..."
p.59 "There is no doubt that they believed in the principle of force ... from the beginning..." They were asked how their institutions and companies were different from those of Nazis, fascists and communism.
p.62 Banna's view of islam (quote):"doctrine, worshiip, fatherland, citizenship, religion, state, spirituality, action, a Koran, and a sword".
p.63 MB not happy to have a constitution that said the state religion is islam; all the laws must be islamic.
p.73 MB "want a gradual progression from national unity to Arab unity to islamic unity".
p.90 MB was organised extremely hierarchically - people had to pass exams to move between grades.
p.91 "Their organizational methods are a mixture of the Salafite, Sufi, Batanite, Nazi and perhaps, the Communist systems".
p.92 "Al-Banna was able, by his sagacity, to place his organisation between the two systems of the Nazi-Fascists and the Communists... From the first he took discipline and obedience or actually a sort of pseudo-dictatorship". He was against public ownership of property.
p.95 "the Islamic nation is one and indivisible and that an attack on one part is an attack on the whole".
p.137 "Abd al-Qadir Awdah sent a letter to Jamal Abd al-Nasir on November 4 [1954], in which he promised: 1) to disband the secret organ and surrender all arms and ammunition within fifteen days..."
p.139 "Opinions differ as to the year of its [the secret military organ'] birth. Some authorities hold that the idea of Jihad (holy war) and preparation for it with arms ... was an integral part of the original plan for the organization...Truly Islam did call for Jihad and considered it one of its foundations...Banna must have understood the real meaning of Jihad [i.e. defensive according to this author], being the widely read and highly learned Moslem he was".
p.141 "The candidate was then passed through a set of graded categories leading from a supporting Brother to a worker, to a member in a family, to a member in a cell... Banna commanded the organ completely".
The following author puts the MB in their context in Britain. Basically the Muslim Association of Britain and the British Muslim Initiative are the face of the MB in Britain.
Barry Rubin (ed) The Muslim Brotherhood - The Organization and Policies of a Global Islamist Movement, Palgrave/Macmillan, 2010
p. 115 MB is not well-established in Britain, because of the large number of south asians and their allegiance to Jammat e Islami.
p.118 In the UK MB has had to appeal to the Ummah to get any traction. Muslim Student Society was founded in 1961, and is the closest group to the MB here.
p.119 in the 1980s in Britain islamists believed europe was Dar al Kufr, and their presence here was temporary. In the 1990s though 2nd generation muslims started to claim Europe was Dar al Islam, and sharia lawa should be applicable to muslims here. Qaradawi told British muslims that european civilisations will succumb to islam.
p.121 Kemal Helbawy has done more to promote MB in Britain than anyone else. Announced formation of MB Information Centre in London in 1995.
p.122 MAB organised demo in London in 2002 for 2nd Intifada "this brought a level of public anti-Israel and even anti-semitic sentiment onto the streets of Britain that had rarely been seen before".
p.123 MAB managed to get SWP/STWC to have gendered meetings - they would share platforms with enemies like socialists and atheists, but never with zionists or israelis. MAB was more concerned about Palestine than the war in Iraq.
p.124 "Palestine must be free, from the Jordan to the sea" is a MAB slogan. "Muhammed Sawalha was a Hamas activist who moved to Britain in 1990. Kemal Helbawy has repeatedly echoed the views of al-Qaradawi and the late Sheykh Yasin of Hamas that Israeli citizens are different from the citizens of other countries... and that suicide bombings in Israel should therefore not be though of as terrorism."
p.125 By 2004 MAB moved away from the Respect Party to have direct influence on Ken Livingstone. Wahhabi shaykh Haitham al-Haddad told muslims that voting was halal, but that they should follow the MAB's advice on who to vote for.
p.126 Qaradawi's 2004 visit to London was for a gathering of the European Council for Fatwa and Research, ECFR was created by the Federation of Islamic Organisations in Europe.
p.127 There was a split in MAB in 2005 between the pious and the political, leading to the formation of the British Muslim Initiative by Muhammad Sawalh, Azzam Tamimi, Anas Al-Tikriti. Conveniently this allows ECFR to carry out its work without drawing attention to itself.
p.128 MAB established 2 Islam Expos in 2006 and 2008. At the 2008 Expo there was a seminar on "Understanding Political Islam" featuring MB & other islamist speakers. Conflicts Forum is run by an ex-MI6 man, but it is basically an advocate of islamism - an islamist without being a muslim. [Could refer to many left-wingers as that.]
p.129 Because of its alliance with islamist arab countries such as Qatar and the funding from GLA (& Scottish govt), groups like BMI can organise events attracting 10k people and costing 1.1 million pounds, yet BMI has no significant grassroots membership and is run by a self-selecting handful.
p.130 MB activists worked with the Met to close down Finsbury Park mosque to Abu Hamza. Several prominent MB fellows in London wrote a public letter in 2004 justifying attacks on British troops in Iraq.
p.132 MB activities and JI activities in Britain often complement each other. TR sees muslim identiy (the why) as far more fundamental to national identity (the how). Insistence to loyalty to the umma over and above nationality is common to MB thinking"
And here are some notes on a book by an apologist for the Brotherhood in Europe.
Brigette Marachal, The Muslim Brothers in Europe - Roots and Discourse, Brill, Leiden, 2008
The Preface says she is "grateful for the Brothers and Sisters" p.ix The impartiality of this academic work is compromised from the first page. The book was based on a PhD thesis, and from what I can see, such a doctorate should never have been granted for this work. However, one would need to examine the actual thesis to see if they bias is there (but there's not reason to believe it is not).
p.4 most people who refer to MB know nothing about them - mere name droppers
p.5 MB attempts to be a magnet pulling all muslims together
p.6 MB opposed to Wahhabi-salafism, but keep their opposition very quiet.
p.7 many people think MB is highly organised in Europe and see it as a threat because of this, but little evidence that this is true
p.9 throughout 1990s MB talks of citizenship co-existing with collective muslim identity
ch1 - foundation of the broherhood
p.20 1930s - MB emphasized they were Sunnis
p.21 they wanted complete social reform - islam should be considered as a complete way of life, not a religion - wanted to diminish power of Ulema - return to the texts. Opposed to decadence in muslim societies.
p.22 went beyond the social & educational to the political
p.23 they were present as combatants in Palestine in 1936 to 1939 as Egyptian volunteer fighters working with the Mufti of Jerusalem.
p.24 MB admired Nazis and Fascists in Europe - communitarianism, militarism, patriotism, 'puritanism'. Distanced themselves from the racism and chauvanism.
p.26 in 1945 they adopted official name of "Muslim Brotherhood of Palestine", although they were operating also in Sudan and Yemen. Their use of violence in Egypt between 1945 and 1949 was becoming greater. Assassinated PM Al Nuqrashi in 1948; Al-Banna asked the youth to stop being violent, and he was assassinated 2 months later (although vehicle carrying assassins belonged to a government agency [this author cites proof of this coming from Banna's grandson, Tariq Ramadan - are there other sources to substantiate TR's claims?]
p.27 mid-1950s - repression and opposition, migration and radicalization
p.30 Qutb emphasized "social justice" and promoted islamic law against secular law.
p.59 son-in-law of Al-Banna, Said Ramadan did his PhD at Cologne on islamic law, and created the Islamic Centre of Munich.
p.67 implication is that Muslim Association of Britain and British Muslim Initiative are MB fronts -- connecting with trade unions, in order to attack Israel.
p.80 MB is becoming weaker in Europe - lassitude.
p.81 informal associations/networks, go beyond MB proper, and compete in some areas. Aimed at young people, through European Muslim Network founded by TR, and in GB The Radical Middle Way (doesn't connect that to TR).
p.147 Qaradawi symbolizes the new philosophy of the MB.
p.148 Q says everything permitted unless proscribed in Koran or "the prophetic tradition clearly and explicitly states the contrary".
p.149 Q approves of suicide bombings and wife-beating
p.161 TR puts himself forward as an ambassador to muslim youth - he's "involved in the struggle against authoritarianism and injustice".
p.162 TR "privliges the specificity of islam in its global dimension, and denounces the limits of the deviations of western systems".
p.302 salafis want to close muslims off within Europe so that muslims don't become contaminated with european ideas, whilst MB "usually stand for openness within european societies hile promoting a reinforcement of Muslim identity."
p.303 MB will not emphasize differences with salafis, but salafis are useful to MB as they make MB look like a partner to engage with in dialogue.
p.310 "After several decades of Islamic work, the Brotherhood has brilliantly succeeded at insinuating their conceptions into the heard of the community of believers, without many of them quite realizing how this happened."

This is a recent article by Barry Rubin. He seems to miss the admissions and evidence that the Muslim Brotherhood were modelled on the Nazi and the Communist party. Still, he comments on how all the experts of the Arab Spring are now wiggling to get out of calling the Brotherhood "moderate"

The Muslim Brotherhood is setting about re-writing history. And the BBC is helping them. The most famous slogan of the Brotherhood is this:
"Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Qur'an is our law. Jihad is our way.
Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope."
http://www.meforum.org/687/the-muslim-brotherhoods-conquest-of-europe It was the Brotherhood motto/creed.
However, if one visits Wikipedia and looks at their article, they say that the most famous slogan of the Brotherhood is "Islam is the solution". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muslim_Brotherhood
And their source to proclaim that this is the most famous slogan: the BBC. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12313405
So we are paying for the Brotherhood to be re-packaged from a violent, pro-nazi, seditious Egyptian party from the 1930s, into an anodyne (but none the less totalitarian) "islam is the solution".
No trace of the real famous slogan is to be found on the Wikipedia page.
At the very best, the BBC and Wikipedia are like Chamberlain clutching that piece of paper. At the worst, they are Lord Haw-Haw.
There are several interesting points here. Business Insider clearly thinks this is a notable statement. Given that prior to "the Arab Spring", this slogan was the most famous account of the Brotherhood's project, it shouldn't really be that notable. Unless it means that BI is aware that there has been a concerted attempt to re-position the Brotherhood (as noted above), or it means that the BI journalist had never heard of this most famous slogan before (looking at the journalist's output, I'd go with the latter explanation: http://www.businessinsider.com/author/ashley-lutz)
In a state of obvious disbelief s/he BI is keen to track down the sources for this quote (Ria Novosti, via Voice of Russia).

The New Egyptian President Reportedly Said 'Jihad Is Our Path And Death In The Name Of Allah Is Our Goal'
Comments reportedly made just over a month ago by new Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi have some spooked.
The Voice of Russia radio website reported that Mordi made the following remarks on May 13:
“The Koran is our constitution, the Prophet is our leader, jihad is our path and death in the name of Allah is our goal,” Morsi said in his election speech before Cairo University students on Saturday night.
Today Egypt is close as never before to the triumph of Islam at all the state levels, he said.
“Today we can establish Sharia law because our nation will acquire well-being only with Islam and Sharia. The Muslim Brothers and the Freedom and Justice Party will be the conductors of these goals,” he said.
While the comments have not been widely reported, they appear to have been reported by the respectable Ria Novosti news-wire, and are no doubt worrying to Middle East observers.
Morsi was the presidential candidate for the Muslim Brotherhood, a group that has some ideological links to radical Jihadist movements. For the most part, the Muslim Brotherhood have promised to rule Egypt in a relatively ... These comments seem to directly contradict that position.
Egypt is the largest Arab nation with a population of 90 million. Morsi, a former prisoner who holds a doctorate from USC, was elected to a four-year term in an election marred by violence and confusion.

Investigative Project on Terrorism
June 25, 2012
Egypt's longtime banned Muslim Brotherhood—the parent organization of nearly every subsequent Islamist movement, including al-Qaeda—has just won the nation's presidency, in the name of its candidate, Muhammad Morsi. That apathy reigns in the international community, when once such news would have been deemed devastating, is due to the successful efforts of Muslim apologists and subversive agents in the West who portray the Brotherhood as "moderate Islamists"—irrespective that such a formulation is oxymoronic, since to be "Islamist," to be a supporter of draconian Sharia, is by definition to be immoderate.
Obama administration officials naturally took it a step further, portraying the Brotherhood as "largely secular" and "pluralistic."
Back in the real world, evidence that the Brotherhood is just another hostile Islamist group bent on achieving world dominationthrough any means possible is overwhelming. Here are just three examples that recently surfaced, all missed by the Western media, and all exposing the Brotherhood as hostile to "infidels" (non-Muslims) in general, hostile to the Christians in their midst (the Copts) in particular, and on record calling on Muslims to lie and cheat during elections to empower Sharia:
Anti-Infidel: At a major conference supporting Muhammad Morsi—standing on a platform with a big picture of Morsi smiling behind him and with any number of leading Brotherhood figures, including Khairat el-Shater, sitting alongside—a sheikh went on a harangue, quoting Koran 9:12, a jihadi favorite, to portray all those Egyptians who do not vote for Morsi—the other half of Egypt, the secularists and Copts who voted for Shafiq—as "resisters of the Sharia of Allah," and "infidel leaders" whom true Muslims must "fight" and subjugate.
The video of this sheikh was shown on the talk show of Egyptian commentator Hala Sarhan, who proceeded to exclaim "This is unbelievable! How is this talk related to the campaign of Morsi?!" A guest on her show correctly elaborated: "Note his [the sheikh's] use of the word 'fight'—'fight the infidel leaders' [Koran 9:12]; this is open incitement to commit violence against anyone who disagrees with them…. How can such a radical sheikh speak such words, even as [Brotherhood leaders like] Khairat el-Shater just sit there?" Nor did the Brotherhood denounce or distance itself from this sheikh's calls to jihad and takfir.
Anti-Christian: It is precisely because of these sporadic outbursts of anti-infidel rhetoric that it is not farfetched to believe that Morsi himself, as some maintain, earlier boasted that he would "achieve the Islamic conquest (fath) of Egypt for the second time, and make all Christians convert to Islam, or else pay the jizya."
Speaking of the minority Christian Copts of Egypt, in an article titled "The Muslim Brotherhood Asks Why Christians Fear Them?!" secularist writer Khaled Montasser, examining the Brotherhood's own official documents and fatwas, shows exactly why. According to Montasser, in issue #56 of the Brotherhood journal The Call (al-da'wa), published in December 1980, prominent Brotherhood figure Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah al-Khatib decreed several anti-Christian measures, including the destruction of churches and the prevention of burying unclean Christian "infidels" anywhere near Muslim graves. Once again, this view was never retracted by the Brotherhood. As Montasser concludes, "After such fatwas, Dr. Morsi and his Brotherhood colleagues can ask and wonder—"Why are the Copts afraid?!"
Lying, Stealing, and Cheating to Victory: In a recent article titled "The Islamist Group's Hidden Intentions," appearing in Watani, author Youssef Sidhom exposes a document "which carries the logos of both the Muslim Brotherhood and its political arm, the Freedom and Justice Party." Written by Khairat el-Shater, the Deputy to the Supreme Guide, and addressed "to all the Brotherhood branches in the governorates," the memo calls on Muslims to cheat, block votes, and "resort to any method that can change the vote" to ensure that Morsi wins, which, of course, he just did—amidst many accusations of electoral fraud. El-Shater concluded his memo by saying, "You must understand, brothers, that our interest lies wherever there is the Sharia of Allah, and this can only be by preserving the [MB] group and preserving Islam."
In short, the Muslim Brotherhood has not changed; only Western opinion of it has. As it was since its founding in 1928, the group is committed to empowering and spreading Sharia law—a law that preaches hate for non-Muslim "infidels," especially Islam's historic nemesis, Christianity, and allows anything, from lying to cheating, to make Islam supreme. Now that the Brotherhood has finally achieved power, the world can prepare to see such aspects on a grand scale.
There is a video linked over on Harry's Place, where Morsi on the campaign trail got a huge audience to intone the traditional Muslim brother motto (the one the BBC is so keen to deny exists).
“Mohamed Morsi: [in the 1920’s, the Egyptians] said: “The constitution is our Koran.” They wanted to show that the constitution is a great thing. But Imam [Hassan] Al-Banna, Allah’s mercy upon him, said to them: “No, the Koran is our constitution.”
The Koran was and will continue to be our constitution.
The Koran will continue to be our constitution.
Mohamed Morsi: The Koran is our constitution.
Crowds: The Koran is our constitution.
Mohamed Morsi: The Prophet Muhammad is our leader.
Crowds: The Prophet Muhammad is our leader.
Mohamed Morsi: Jihad is our path.
Crowds: Jihad is our path.
Mohamed Morsi: And death for the sake of Allah is our most lofty aspiration.
Crowds: And death for the sake of Allah is our most lofty aspiration.
Mohamed Morsi: Above all – Allah is our goal.

Someone might like to download the video and keep a copy so that we have further proof that the BBC is engaged in manufacturing a moderate image for Morsi.

As the mainstream media have reported on the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood’s beliefs, failing to pick up on contradictory claims by its leaders that the Islamist group opposes terrorism, also ignored was the role that the Muslim Brotherhood has long played in fomenting anti-Jew hatred in the Middle East. After Nazi Germany financed and helped build up the previously struggling Brotherhood in the 1930s and 1940s, the group disseminated anti-Jew propaganda and inspired the kind of persecution that sent almost a million Jewish refugees fleeing violence, confiscation of property, and expulsion in Muslim countries between the 1940s and the 1970s. Some even estimate that the land confiscated from Jewish residents in Muslim countries amounts to four times or even five times the total area of the state of Israel. A number of Muslim countries saw their Jewish populations almost completely erased, including Egypt where the number dwindled from about 100,000 Jews to only a couple of hundred.
Even somewhat recently, Brotherhood leaders have made such incendiary statements as praising Adolf Hitler to declaring that Muslims should stop fighting each other and fight against Israel instead. As previously documented by NewsBusters, an interview on CNN's Parker-Spitzer helped reveal the tendency of Muslim Brotherhood leaders to twist the meaning of words, as one leader claimed that the group opposes terrorism and violence but then suggested that Palestinian militants are not engaged in terrorism against Israel but instead "resistance," which he rationalized. He also refused to give a straight answer on whether the group would support adherence to Egypt’s treaty with Israel.
But on the January 31 NBC Nightly News, not picking up on Muslim Brotherhood wordplay, correspondent Richard Engel claimed, "The Muslim Brotherhood denounces terrorism, but supports Islamic law, is anti-Israel, and opposes U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East."
On the February 6 World News Sunday, ABC’s Christiane Amanpour, having just interviewed a high-ranking Muslim Brotherhood member, claimed, "He told us the Brotherhood is not seeking the presidency or any cabinet position, and he says the Brotherhood accepts Egypt’s peace treaty with Israel."
Back to the Parker-Spitzer interview, when Eliot Spitzer asked if the Brotherhood had any connections to terrorist organizations, spokesman Mohammed Morsy claimed that his group opposes violence: "We do not have any kind of relationships with any organization that is practicing violence. We are against violence, wherever it comes from, governments, states, individuals, organizations. This is not acceptable at all."
But, moments later, when asked about Israel and the Palestinians, Morsy justified violent actions against Israel as "resistance" by Palestinians. Morsy: "We do not use violence against anyone. What’s going on on the Palestinian land is resistance. The resistance is acceptable by all mankind, and it’s the right of people to resist imperialism."
In the February 7, 2011, article, "The New Leader of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood in His Own Words," CAMERA’s Steven Stotsky picked up on a translation of Mohammed Badie’s first public address after being chosen as Muslim Brotherhood leader in January 2010. Badie encouraged Muslims to stop fighting each other and fight against Israel instead:
"[The Arab and Muslim regimes] have forgotten, or are pretending to have forgotten, that the real enemy lying in wait for them is the Zionist entity. They are aiming their weapons against their own peoples, while avoiding any confrontation with these Zionists and achieving neither unity nor revival for their nations. Moreover, they are disregarding Allah's commandment to wage jihad for His sake with [their] money and [their] lives, so that Allah's word will reign supreme and the infidels' word will be inferior...
"Today the Muslims desperately need a mentality of honor and means of power [that will enable them] to confront global Zionism. [This movement] knows nothing but the language of force, so [the Muslims] must meet iron with iron, and winds with [even more powerful] storms. They crucially need to understand that the improvement and change that the [Muslim] nation seeks can only be attained through jihad and sacrifice and by raising a jihadi generation that pursues death just as the enemies pursue life."
As he complained about the most recent negotiations between the Palestinian Authority and Israel, Badie declared that "Resistance is the only solution."
Stotsky also cited the Carnegie Guide to Egypt’s Elections as having related that "Badie’s election was generally viewed as a victory for the Brotherhood’s conservative wing and a marginalization of its reformist trend."
In the February 16, 2011, article, "Tariq Ramadan Obscures the Truth About Muslim Brotherhood," CAMERA's Dexter Van Zile recounted Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leader Yusef Qaradawi’s recent history of expressing admiration for Adolf Hitler:
Then there are the public statements of Yusef Qaradawi, who was twice offered the position of Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood and who is described as the movement's spiritual leader or father figure. In January 2009 he stated that Hitler was a "divine tool" sent to punish the Jewish people for their sins. He also called on Allah to "take this oppressive, Jewish, Zionist band of people. Oh Allah, do not spare a single one of them. Oh Allah, count their numbers, and kill them, down to the very last one." (Qaradawi, who is mentioned nowhere in Ramadan's piece, offered a prayer in the 1995 funeral of Tariq's father, Said Ramadan.)
The same article also relates German Professor and author Matthias Kuntzel's contention that anti-Jewish sentiment in the Middle East was fomented by the Muslim Brotherhood:
"The Muslim Brotherhood was also responsible for stoking anti-Jewish hostility – not just in Palestine – but in Egypt as well. Matthias Küntzel, author of Jihad and Jew Hatred: Islamism, Nazism and the Roots of 9/11 (2009, Telos), reports that the Muslim Brotherhood was a "driving force" behind "a shift in direction in Egypt from a rather neutral or pro-Jewish mood to a rabidly anti-Zionist or anti-Jewish one, a shift that changed the whole Arab world and affects it to this day." This shift, Küntzel states, took place between 1925 and 1945 and was stoked by a 1936 boycott against Jewish business owners in Egypt organized by the Muslim Brotherhood. Küntzel writes "In mosques, schools, and workplaces, the Brotherhood worked up the believers with the legend that the Jews and British wished to destroy the holy places of Jerusalem, tear up the Koran, and trample it underfoot." (Page 21)"
In the September 17, 2007, Weekly Standard article, "Jew-Hatred and Jihad; The Nazi Roots of the 9/11 Attack," Matthias Kuntzel recounted the Muslim Brotherhood’s embrace of the grand mufti of Jerusalem, and Nazi ally Amin al-Husseini, and its role in stirring up violence against Jews in the Middle East:
After World War II it became apparent that the center of global Jew-hatred was shifting from Nazi Germany to the Arab world. In November 1945, just half a year after the end of the Third Reich, the Muslim Brothers carried out the worst anti-Jewish pogroms in Egypt's history, when demonstrators penetrated the Jewish quarters of Cairo on the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration. They ransacked houses and shops, attacked non-Muslims, and torched the synagogues. Six people were killed, and some hundred more injured. A few weeks later the Islamists' newspapers "turned to a frontal attack against the Egyptian Jews, slandering them as Zionists, Communists, capitalists and bloodsuckers, as pimps and merchants of war, or in general, as subversive elements within all states and societies," as Gudrun Krämer wrote in her study The Jews in Egypt 1914-1952.
In 1946, the Brotherhood made sure that Heinrich Himmler's friend Amin al-Husseini, the former grand mufti who was being sought as a war criminal by Britain and the United States, was granted asylum and a new lease on political life in Egypt. As leader of the Palestine National Movement, al-Husseini had been a close ally of both the Muslim Brotherhood and the Nazis. Based in Berlin from 1941 to 1945, he had directed the Muslim SS divisions in the Balkans and had been personally responsible for blocking negotiations late in the war that might have saved thousands of Jewish children from the gas chambers. All this was known in 1946. Nonetheless, Britain and the United States chose to forgo criminal prosecution of al-Husseini in order to avoid spoiling their relations with the Arab world. France, which was holding al-Husseini, deliberately let him get away.
For many in the Arab world, what amounted to amnesty for this prominent Islamic authority who had spent the war years broadcasting Nazi propaganda from Berlin was a vindication of his actions. They started to view his Nazi past with pride, not shame, and Nazi criminals on the wanted list in Europe now flooded into the Arab world. Large print-runs of the most infamous libel of the Jews, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, were published in the following decades at the behest of two well-known former members of the Muslim Brotherhood, Gamal Abdel Nasser and Anwar Sadat. Both the Muslim Brothers' unconditional solidarity with al-Husseini and their anti-Jewish riots mere months after Auschwitz show that the Brotherhood did not object, to say the least, to Hitler's attempt to exterminate the Jews of Europe.
In the January 31, 2011, American Thinker article, "Why We Should Fear the Moslem Brother," Karin McQuillan recounted:
What you haven't been told is this: the Moslem Brothers were a small, unpopular group of anti-modern fanatics unable to attract members, until they were adopted by Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich beginning in the 1930s. Under the tutelage of the Third Reich, the Brothers started the modern jihadi movement, complete with a genocidal program against Jews. In the words of Matthias Kuntzel, "[t]he significance of the Brotherhood to Islamism is comparable to that of the Bolshevik Party to communism: It was and remains to this day the ideological reference point and organizational core for all later Islamist groups, including al-Qaeda and Hamas."
What is equally ominous for Jews and Israel is that despite Mubarak's pragmatic coexistence with Israel for the last thirty years, every Egyptian leader from Nasser through Sadat to Mubarak has enshrined Nazi Jew-hatred in mainstream Egyptian culture out of both conviction and political calculation. Nasser, trained by Nazis as a youth, spread the genocidal conspiracy theories of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, making it a bestseller throughout the Arab world. On the Ramadan following 9/11, Mubarak presided over a thirty-week-long TV series dramatizing Elders and its genocidal message.
She later continued:
In the 1930s, the Third Reich poured men, money, weapons, and propaganda training into the Moslem Brotherhood. It was the Reich that taught the fundamentalists to focus their anger on the Jews instead of on women. By war's end, thanks entirely to Hitler's tutelage and direct support, the brotherhood had swelled to a million members, and Jew-hatred had become central to mainstream Arab culture. Iranian Ayatollah Khomeini listened daily to the Nazi propaganda broadcast from Berlin by Moslem Brother Haj Amin al-Husseini. So did every Arab with a radio, throughout the war, as it was the most popular programming in the Middle East. Thanks to Hitler, the Moslem Brothers enshrined anti-Semitism as the main organizing force of Middle East politics for the next eighty years.

OK, I've captured it.

There is a video linked over on Harry's Place, where Morsi on the campaign trail got a huge audience to intone the traditional Muslim brother motto (the one the BBC is so keen to deny exists).
The influence of the Nazi's was spread far and wide. They (nazi's) were involved in science that other countries would have found unethical at the time but many countries were happy to turn a blind eye to nazi crimes, in return for the knowledge they held. It was nazi expertise that put man on the moon after all.

Even in germany, a country that has laws against Holocaust deniers, they still censor the link between Nazi germany and the Muslims.
ZDF, Germany's biggest TV channel, accurately compares Muslim Brotherhood to Nazis.

If any country's mediare are going to be loath to throw about the word "nazi", I think it will be Germany's.
Whenever I have brought up the Nazi roots of the MB with so-called anti-fascists, they have denied that there is any connection. The same with muslims. Yet here is the New York Times report on the death of Hasan Al-Banna. Thus, respectable newspapers in 1949, and muslims in 1956, were reporting that the Muslim Brotherhood was respectively "fascist" or "nazi".

MOSLEM BROTHERHOOD LEADER SLAIN AS HE ENTERS TAXI IN CAIRO STREET
Terrorist Leader Is Killed In Cairo
By ALBION ROSS
CAIRO -- Sheikh Hassan el Banna, 39-year-old head of the outlawed Moslem Brotherhood, extremist Egyptian nationalist movement that was banned after authorities had declared it responsible for a series of bombing outrages and killings last year, was shot five times today by a group of young men in a car and died tonight in a hospital.
He was leaving the Young Men's Association and entering a taxi when a fusillade struck his car. A companion was wounded.
[The United Press reported that the Egyptian Government had proclaimed a state of emergency.]
A member of the Brotherhood, Abdul Meguid Ahmed Hassan, killed Premier Mahmoud Fahmy Nokrashy Pasha last month in revenge for suppression of the organization. Several hundreds arrests were made after this act of terror and two internment camps were opened in connection with a government campaign to halt the Moslem Brotherhood's terrorism.
It was disclosed recently that an inner circle of the banned Brotherhood had recognized Sheikh Hassan as Caliph, which would have amounted to proclaiming him as political chief of the Islamic world. This group of eighty conspirators, it was stated, carried out acts of terror by lot.
Sheikh Hassan, who was short and wore a black beard, was a noted orator. He organized the Moslem Brotherhood about twenty years ago when he was a school teacher in Ismailia, on the Suez Canal.
At first it was a religious and reform organization and had no trouble with the authorities. During recent years, however, it had taken on the character of a political movement with mystic and fascist overtones.
Sheikh Hassan's followers were fanatically devoted to him, and many of them proclaimed that he alone would be able to save the Arab and Islamic worlds. The campaign of terror appears to have had the purpose of systematically intimidating the authorities, courts and police in preparation for a seizure of power.
Sheikh Hassanhad not been arrested but recently he had been interrogated by the public prosecutor in connection with the preparation of the case against the murderer of Premier Nokrashy Pasha. Whether addressing a crowd before the organization was banned or talking to authorities, Sheikh el Banna cited the Koran as support for all his arguments. Such religious and ethical reformers have been fairly common in the recent history of the Islamic countries.
During the early period of the war in Palestine Sheikh Hassan sent a contingent of Moslem brothers to the front and they were supplied with arms and munitions. It was not until the middle of the last summer that the terrorist operations began. These culminated in the autumn's outbreaks of bombings and killings. There have been charges but no verification that Communists are providing the funds for the movement to increase the disorder in the Middle East.
Police reported that Sheikh Hassan's companion was his brother-in-law, Abdul Kerin Mohammed. He was wounded in the arm and leg.
The youths sped away in their car. Cairo police are combing the city in the search for them, but they have not yet been found.

Most Western societies are based on Secular Democracy, which itself is based on the concept that the open marketplace of ideas leads to the optimum government. Whilst that model has been very successful, it has defects. The 4 Freedoms address 4 of the principal vulnerabilities, and gives corrections to them.
At the moment, one of the main actors exploiting these defects, is Islam, so this site pays particular attention to that threat.
Islam, operating at the micro and macro levels, is unstoppable by individuals, hence: "It takes a nation to protect the nation". There is not enough time to fight all its attacks, nor to read them nor even to record them. So the members of 4F try to curate a representative subset of these events.
We need to capture this information before it is removed. The site already contains sufficient information to cover most issues, but our members add further updates when possible.
We hope that free nations will wake up to stop the threat, and force the separation of (Islamic) Church and State. This will also allow moderate Muslims to escape from their totalitarian political system.
These 4 freedoms are designed to close 4 vulnerabilities in Secular Democracy, by making them SP or Self-Protecting (see Hobbes's first law of nature). But Democracy also requires - in addition to the standard divisions of Executive, Legislature & Judiciary - a fourth body, Protector of the Open Society (POS), to monitor all its vulnerabilities (see also Popper).
1. SP Freedom of Speech
Any speech is allowed - except that advocating the end of these freedoms
2. SP Freedom of Election
Any party is allowed - except one advocating the end of these freedoms
3. SP Freedom from Voter Importation
Immigration is allowed - except where that changes the political demography (this is electoral fraud)
4. SP Freedom from Debt
The Central Bank is allowed to create debt - except where that debt burden can pass across a generation (25 years).
An additional Freedom from Religion is deducible if the law is applied equally to everyone:
