Five men were arrested during a demonstration and counter-protest in Bristol today.

Groups called British and Immigrants United Against Terrorism and Gays Against Sharia turned out to protest about “issues of female genital mutilation, homophobia within Islam and Sharia Law”.

In response anti-fascist groups – and the city’s lesbian, gay, bi- and transgender community, organised a counter protest.

Police arrested four men for assaults on officers and another for obstruction during the demonstrations.

A massive police operation, understood to have involved around 300 officers, saw Queen Square cordoned off for the anti-Sharia demonstration and rally, which was joined by extreme right groups the English Defence League and South West Infidels.

Once inside the Queen Square cordon, a crowd estimated by police as being around 65, listened to Anne-Marie Waters, who is standing for UKIP leadership, and former EDL member Tommy English, the organiser of Gays Against Sharia, give speeches.

The organisers of the rally denied being on the “far right” of the political spectrum and Ms Waters claimed that the only fascists were the 'anti-fascist' demonstrators.

Around 100 anti-fascist activists plus protesters from Bristol’s lesbian, gay, bi- and transgender community and Stand Up To Racism and Bigotry were kept together in Castle Park in a bid by police to separate the groups.

At one point those from the coalition of unions and anti-fascist groups made a surge around the Old Market roundabout to meet with the other group, but were fended off by police.

Anti-fascist protesters outside the Gays Against Sharia event in Queen Square

It is understood, although not confirmed with police, that there is where the arrests were made.

The counter protesters were ‘kettled’ in Castle Park and those who attended the protest said a woman had to be taken to hospital after being injured when she collided with a tree during a scuffle.

When the groups came to face to face, there were shouts of “fascist scum off our streets” and “how many of you are actually gay?” from the counter protesters.

At one point a woman with a large pink fancy dress claw lay down in front of the march in a bid to bring it to an end before she was picked up off the floor by officers.

One shouted at the police: “These are our streets. We live here. You are protecting neo-Nazis and we aren’t allowed to walk down our streets.”

Police used special powers in the city centre to ban banners, flags and placards that might incite disorder or hatred; anything that could be used to cause injury or damage and face coverings, masks or scarves used to conceal identities.

A force spokesperson said afterwards:

"We would like to thank members of the public in Bristol city centre today for their patience and understanding while we facilitated a number of protests.

"A large intelligence-led operation was mounted to facilitate the events, with the underlying aim to ensure those working, living and visiting Bristol remained safe.

"The operation involved 250 officers and staff including neighbourhood officers, specialist public order-trained officers, mounted colleagues and dog handlers."

Chief Inspector Andy Williams said: “Overall the operation went well, with the vast majority of those involved behaving and following our request for peaceful demonstrations.

“Unfortunately there were a small number of counter-protestors who deviated from their pre-agreed route and who became disruptive.

“This led to a small amount of anti-social behaviour in the Old Market area which caused some congestion on surrounding roads while officers dealt with the situation.

“We’d particularly like to thank those motorists who were affected by this and apologise to them for any inconvenience.

“A total of five arrests were made during the day, four for assaulting police officers and one for obstructing them in their duties. “Violence and disorder will not be tolerated and we, as the public would expect, have been robust in tackling with those who have engaged in this behaviour.”

Amjid Ali, chair of the Bristol Independent Advisory Group, said:

There’s only so much time in the day, especially you’re being snogged by ruggedly handsome Canadian men (it turns out that isn’t an oxymoron) as a “f*** you” to Islam.

So I didn’t say everything I wanted to say about the “religion of peace” at my press conference in Orlando today. But that’s what columns are for!

Here are the full remarks I had prepared for today.

Britain Is A Warning

Now, as you all know, I come from Britain. As a country, I believe it should serve as a warning sign for the United States, which must face its Muslim problem before it is too late. I myself am leaving the UK behind, as I no longer recognize much of my beloved London.

A Gallup poll of Muslims in the UK found that not a single one of the 1,001 people polled thought that homosexuality was morally acceptable. That is compared to 58% of the overall British population who think homos are OK. The same poll found that just 35% of French Muslims and 19% of German Muslims thought homosexuals were morally acceptable.

In my opinion those percentages have probably cratered following Europe’s importation of hordes of young Muslim radicals affectionately known as “rapefugees” on the continent. Some more stats specific to British Muslims from a channel 4 poll:

52% believe homosexuality should be illegal

23% would like to see Sharia law in England

39% believe a woman should always obey her husband, as opposed to 5% of English overall

31% consider it acceptable for a man to have multiple wives

If the United Kingdom remains in the EU, much of this data may change, and not for the better. Large scale Muslim immigration from Turkey and other Muslim countries will introduce more fundamentalist opinions to the country.

Turkey, you’ll keep in mind, is the country whose reaction to the Orlando shooting included the newspaper headline “50 perverts killed in bar.” In other words, the Muslims pouring into Europe and the UK, and America if your current government democrat AND republican has its way, are not kind easygoing Muslims, they are hardliners.

This speech was supposed to be delivered yesterday on the campus of the University of Central Florida. UCF cancelled that event and a rescheduled event for today, because the police say they cannot guarantee my safety. After receiving threats, the police and UCF have made plain that it is not safe for a gay man to speak out against Islamic terror in Florida.

This is the school that once hosted Siraj Wahhaj, a terror co-conspirator of Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, the “blind Sheikh” who masterminded the World Trade Center bombing in 1993. Apparently speakers calling for the replacement of America’s constitution with a Caliphate suit the university just fine, but a dangerous faggot does not.

De Tocqueville

It is a uniquely American trait that your country has relied on foreigners to take the true stock of American culture. Before I was saying America can be Great Again with Trump, it took a Frenchman named Alexis de Tocqueville to document the miracle of American democracy in his 1835 book “Democracy in America.”

I share something else with de Tocqueville: he was also a critic of Islam.

He was right about America, and he was right about Islam when he said “I studied the Quran a great deal. I came away from that study with the conviction there have been few religions in the world as deadly to men as that of Muhammad.”

America Has a Muslim problem

America has a Muslim problem. Notice my wording carefully here. It isn’t a radical Muslim problem. It isn’t an ISIS problem, an Al Qaeda problem, a Taliban problem, or any of the Muslim terror groups that have sprung up in 2016. The terror attack on Saturday is an expression of mainstream Muslim values.

Barack Obama,The “leader of the free world” is too scared to say this.

In fact I have already referenced Islam both mainstream and radical in reference to this terror attack more often than Obama, who didn’t mention it at all.

I like to imagine President Obama on “Wheel of Fortune” sweating bullets over “Radical Islam” with only a letter or two missing. I think he’d say “I’d like to buy a vowel” or if his teleprompter is broken, just “I uh uh uh uh uh.”

Following Obama’s lead, Hillary Clinton has put out the exact statement we’d expect. Islam is not our enemy, it is a religion of peace, blah blah blah. Forgive me if I think her speechwriters are imams from Saudi Arabia.

The Left won’t blame Islam

Alarmingly, prominent liberals and homosexuals have fallen right in line. They are blaming rifles, the NRA, masculinity, video games — anything but Islam.

Dan Savage blames toxic homophobia and toxic gun culture. Well Dan, I have news for you: toxic homophobia has a name, and the name is Islam.

Many will say that what I just said is an Islamophobic statement. Islamophobia, the irrational fear of muslims, is a nonsense term.

Fear of Islam is entirely rational. I can tell you specifically that for gay people, “Allahu Ackbar” is the scariest words we could ever hear.

Gun Panic

Liberals always wait to determine the race and sex of a shooter before deciding how they will attack gun rights.

Let me give you a clue, liberals — Muslims don’t just use rifles, they use bombs, airplanes and knives, they like did in Paris Monday night. They will use anything to kill the hated “infidels.”

Fewer than 300 people were murdered in 2013 with rifles. Nearly 1500 were murdered with knives to put that in perspective. In fact more than double that number were murdered by hand and fist.

I don’t think you’d ever get gays to line up behind a ban on fisting!

The Anti-Gay Muslim speaker

In April, a Sharia law expert named Sheikh Farrokh Sekaleshfar spoke in Orlando and had some interesting things to say about gays.

Death is the sentence. We know there’s nothing to be embarrassed about this, death is the sentence … We have to have that compassion for people, with homosexuals, it’s the same, out of compassion, let’s get rid of them now.

Is there a lot of wiggle room there? It seems pretty clear. When Fred Phelps says his homophobic drivel, Christians are expected to say “That’s not Christianity” — does the responsibility not extend to Islam, when instead of waving signs they shoot 100 people?

Phelps may protest funerals, but Islam creates them.

Honestly, can anyone connect the dots here? A Muslim sharia law expert says gays must die, and then Omar Mateen sells his house to his sister for $100 and starts planning the massacre of 50 gays and the wounding of at least 50 more.

Even the sternest free speech advocate draws the line at incitement to violence, and it’s pretty clear that’s what was going on here.

Omar was Gay

There is one more thing. It is clear at this point that Omar was himself a gay man.

The very latest information is that Omar himself was a regular at the club, some witnesses saw him there a dozen times. His own ex-wife, who as a good muslim he beat, has come out with the fact he was gay.

This is what Islam does to its own gays.

If they are clever enough to not be killed in a middle eastern country, they must develop the most intense self-loathing imaginable.

It is beyond my powers to picture a lifestyle in which your religious leaders, your family, and your larger culture not only disapprove of your lifestyle which is normal for many gays, but actively call for the killing of those that share your lifestyle.

And liberals think “bigoted” Christians are the problem.

Muslims Rely On Liberals

It’s a sad fact that Muslims rely on being enabled by liberals and overly-tolerant leaders from other faiths to help them spread their poisonous ideas.

Consider the response of the Central Florida Interfaith Council to the vile teachings of Sheikh Farrokh. They say “[we] wish congregations would focus more on helping the homeless, poor, and abused instead of persecuting a group that can take care of itself.”

Where is the condemnation of calling for the murder of gays? When did being against murder become a controversial position for religious leaders?

Why Islam Escapes Blame

With all of this information implicating Islam, a reasonable question to ask is why the government and liberal media refuse to speak the plain truth.

Beyond all complicating factors, the root cause of this mysterious lack of assigning blame to Muslims is that they are now seen as the apex victims in our culture.

Liberals consider everyone that is not a straight white male to be on a pyramid of victimhood. Various minorities shift places on this pyramid For example, white gay men have recently dropped quite close to the bottom. (I think I’m partly responsible for that!)

For unknown reasons, liberals have put Muslims at the very top of this pyramid.

That is why Muslims can act and speak with impunity against others groups like gays, Jews, and women– they have been placed at the pinnacle of the victim pyramid.

The major flaw of liberal logic, with apologies to the term logic, is that in this case the top of the victim pyramid is intent on murdering and abusing the entire rest of the pyramid!

When we examine liberal thinking, we find that the already shaky logic doesn’t hold up when juxtaposed with other similar cases. Let me provide you with some examples: When supporters of Donald Trump are violently attacked and his rallies interfered with, the liberal response is that the Donald provoked these attacks.

But when Muslims attack gays, there is no outcry that the gays provoked Islam by being Fabulous. Which is it liberals, were they asking for it, or weren’t they?

When a christian bakery chooses not to bake a gay wedding cake due to religious beliefs, they are decried as religious bigots and driven out of business, the target of a national religious shaming.

When Muslims call for the murder of homosexuals in the months leading up to the largest mass shooting in American history, they will receive absolutely no blowback whatsoever, as we are told this was due to assault rifles and toxic masculinity.

When a single picture emerges of Dylann Roof, the Charleston church shooter, posing with a confederate flag, the media and the government attempted to erase the entire history of the South by removing flags, renaming buildings, and destroying monuments.

When Omar Mateen shoots some 100 people in a gay nightclub, the initial reaction of the government and media was to stumble over each other trying to be the first ones to say Islam is a religion of peace and had nothing to do with the attack

Despite the terrorist’s own cries of “Allahu Ackbar,” his call of allegiance to ISIS during a 911 call, and the fact he was acting within the murderous tenets of his religion as preached in the very city of Orlando.

When Eliott Rodger killed six and wounded quite a few people in California, the media called it an act of misogyny and violence against women, despite the fact that he killed more men than women.

Compare that with how they have handled the terror acts of Major Nidal Hassan and Omar Mateen.

Nidal Hassan killed 13 unarmed soldiers and wounded 30 while screaming “Allahu Ackbar.” This case was called workplace violence, and in fact his victims have been denied special benefits due to the victims of a terror attack.

Omar Mateen’s Muslim terror attack has already run the gamut from ‘the rifle did it’ to ‘video games’ and everything in between. Everything except his religion of death.

And here are some more, awkward facts about his religion, and its followers, who liberals want to allow into your country in mass numbers.

According to the Center for Security Policy:

Around the world, Islam reigns through fear and terror. If the Mullah’s executioners don’t get you, the bombs of his insurgents will. America must not go the same way.

America must not become a country in which people are afraid to kiss. It must not become a country in which artists and satirists are afraid a drawing might get them killed.

The terror attack was on a nightclub, which combines music, alcohol, the genders mixing and in this case homosexuality. The Paris attack on a concert fits this mold as well, as does the Bali bombing in 2002.

You will never please them and will never placate them short of the adoption of Sharia law. So don’t give an inch- they won’t stop taking!

It is time for the LGBT community to come home to conservatism and libertarianism where it belongs. The left no longer has your interests at heart, and is actively making the Muslim problem worse.

It is time for the LGBT community to take up arms in order to defend itself from further muslim attacks. Guns are not icky, gross, or scary. In the next Muslim terror attack on gays, a gun will save your life and those of the people around you.

If you are uncomfortable with guns or associate them with the Christian right, find one of the many LGBT-friendly shooting instructors spread throughout the entire country.

If you think carrying a concealed pistol will ruin how cute you look in your new jeans, honey get over yourself you aren’t all that anyways.

The LGBT allies of the past might call you brave and like your social media pasts, but the christian right are men and women that will fight for your rights, and more importantly, teach you how to fight and shoot on your own.

Gays and Lesbians must have the mindset of the Jews that fought so many hard conflicts against muslim aggressors in the past. They realized they had sat and watched while Germany committed unspeakable atrocities against their people. They said Never Againand meant it.

Today is the LGBT community’s chance to say Never Again. Never Again will we allow Muslims to slaughter us, and never again will we support politicians who enable despicable terrorists to commit these senseless crimes.

Back in the 1980s, the feminist response to sex-change surgery was to oppose it. Feminists argued that no-one could really change sex, it was a physical and biological impossibility. At a chromosomal level, you are the sex you were born. Adjusting the physical manifestation to make a man look like a woman was no more than a form of surgically-facilitated drag act. This is the position I found most logical back in the 1980s, and it is the position to which I still subscribe. Meanwhile, the vast majority of feminists have abandoned this position - just like they have abandoned the girls who are forced to have FGM or who are forced to have sex with old muslim men whilst still at school (muslim or non-muslim schoolgirls i.e. the grooming gang victims).

Ashers Baking Co in Northern Ireland, where gay marriage has not been legalised, was founded by Christian directors and is run based on their religious beliefs and values, which includes not opening for business on Sundays.

Daniel McArthur, general manager of the 22-year-old company, said he and the directors considered the cake design and decided the order was "at odds with our beliefs" and "in contradiction with what the Bible teaches".

"Marriage in Northern Ireland has not been redefined. It still is defined as being a union between one man and one woman," he said in an online statement.

The Newtonabbey bakery, which is one of six run by the McArthur family, employing 62 people, refunded the customer in full and thought that was the end of the matter.

Six weeks later it received a letter from the Equality Commission threatening legal action and accusing it of discriminating against the customer on the grounds of his sexual orientation.

It asked the bakery to propose how it would recompense the customer and said it would pursue legal proceedings if the firm did not respond in seven days.

It said it would "consider any response before taking further action".

The Christian Institute, which is providing the bakery with legal support, said the request for the cake was made in May by a "volunteer LGBT activist".

Mr McArthur was 'surprised' by the reaction. Pic: Christian Institute

It said it was supporting the bakery because "the case proves the need for the law to reasonably accommodate family-run businesses with firmly held beliefs".

Its director Colin Hart said: "All the McArthurs want is to run their bakery according to their Christian beliefs. There won't be many situations where they need to turn down an order but this is obviously one of them.

"No one should be forced to use their creative skills to promote a cause which goes against their consciences. Imbalanced equality laws are making it increasingly hard for people, especially Christians."

He added: "It establishes a dangerous precedent about the power of the state over an individual or business to force them to go against their deeply-held beliefs."

Mr McArthur said he was "surprised" to receive the letter from the equality watchdog and added: "Although we have found this experience certainly unsettling and disruptive to our day-to-day business, we are certainly convinced that we have made the right decision.

"We do continue to take the stand and stance that we do take."

Homosexuality Is Like Murder, Birmingham Mosque Chairman Says After BBC3 Gay Muslim Debate Row

The chairman of one of Europe's largest mosques has launched a tirade against those who criticised him for banning a BBC3 discussion about gay Muslims at his mosque, comparing homosexuality to being "a compulsive murderer, gambler, or paedophile".

The panel show called "Free Speech", was aired last week live from Birmingham Central Mosque, trailing the question ‘When will it be accepted to be Muslim and gay?’

But after an introductory clip was shown featuring Asifa Lahore, a Muslim drag queen, presenter Rick Edwards said the mosque had demanded the segment not be discussed.

But Dr Mohammad Naseem, the mosque's long-time chairman, defended his decision to bar the discussion in a letter sent to HuffPost UK.

"There are people with homosexual tendency in Muslim countries but they respect the law and control their desire as others do.

"Human beings do have weaknesses and tendencies which are not socially acceptable and so they try to have a control over them and do not give in.

"A compulsive murderer, gambler, paedophile etc. could present the same logic and ask for accommodation by the society. Are we going to accept on the basis of freedom of action?"

It was apparent that Lahore, the Muslim drag queen featured in the programme, "does not know his religion and has not got much links with it," Naseem said.

"He would have, otherwise, known that it is prohibited in Islam. If he wants to persue [sic] his inclination then he is free to leave Islam and follow any ideology that suits him," Naseem continued.

BBC had misled the mosque, and that they had only been informed two hours before the programme that it intended to discuss homosexuality, Naseem alleged.

Naseem said the subject of homosexuality was not the topic for a TV discussion show but something that should be investigated by "specialists in the fields of zoology, botany, genetics, sociology etc", adding that the "mosque management will be delighted to join such a group and help to seek an understanding of the subject in depth."

"It is premature to discuss the subject when we do not know much about its causes and effects," Naseem said.

"Not being able to accept them in religion should not be confused with denying them their human rights such as their right to have education, employment, housing and respect."

Panellists on the show were The Huffington Post UK's Mehdi Hasan, Lib Dem peer Susan Kramer, trans activist and writer Paris Lees, former Conservative parliamentary candidate Shazia Awan, and Heydon Prowse, co-creator of ‘The Revolution Will Be Televised’.

It is not the first time Naseem, a Respect party parliamentary candidate in 2005, has raised eyebrows with his comments, including hinting that he believes the 7/7 London tube bombings may have been a false flag.

He told a BBC2 documentary Muslims "do not accept the government version of July 7, 2005".

Later, when a videotape emerged featuring suspected bomber Mohammed Sidique Khan, appearing to explain his actions, Naseem said: "We are in the 21st century. The cows can be made to look as dancing, the horses can speak like humans, so these things can be doctored or can be produced."

The BBC said in a statement on the cancellation of the debate: “Out of respect to the Birmingham Central Mosque, who hosted the programme, the decision was made to delay the debate on Muslim gay rights to a future programme".

"The topic will be raised and debated in full in the edition of Free Speech airing on 25 March.”

This complicity of the gay media is obvious dating back to 2009. At that point, The Guardian was discussing a survey by (muslims at Gallop), which showed that British muslims were 99.5% homophobic. The major gay newspaper in Britain argued that the survey was "islamophobic". Instead, they trumpeted some idiotic survey done by a gay muslim student in Britain, which claimed that most muslims in Britain would be happy to have a gay child.

So clearly, the people who run these sites don't care to restrain/censor this manifestation of Nazism (they block postings by jew-haters/anti-jewish conspiracy theories).

So there's nothing to do but to start to document the frequency of these incidents which promote hatred of gay people. I've seen several cases of people in the counter-jihad movement saying "the islamisation of the west is the fault of gays". Never mind that the vast majority of gay people in the west recognise that islam is fundamentally anti-gay, and that ALL the evidence points to gays being the group who muslims hate most (more than jews).

I'll post the links, and people who are interested can visit the page and search for the word "gay". Perhaps after 100 or so of these links mount up, others in the counter-jihad movement will begin to recognise just how many Nazis there are following such sites.

Those who think that such counter-jihad sites do not have a crypto-Nazi agenda can explain why it is that they would block such posts if they were about some supposed jewish conspiracy, but not when it is about a supposed gay conspiracy.

http://gatesofvienna.net/2014/02/gates-of-vienna-news-feed-2112014/#more-32525

If it wasn't for jews/Leftists having done such a good job of making the world aware of the Nazi persecution of jews, I see no reason to think that the counter-jihad movement wouldn't be pinning the islamisation of the west on jews as well as gays. But the people who are so ready to keep promoting the persecution of gays know that they would be easily cast in the role of Nazi if they were to do the same with jews, so that acts as a brake on them publishing stories which invoke anti-jewish conspiracy theories as the explanation for the islamisation of the west.

That gays were hated and persecuted by Nazis seems to be generally forgotten. And these defenders of western civilisation who criticise islam are perfectly ready to blame/persecute gays too. The question they should be asking themselves is: "what has this story got to do with stopping islam?" And if it hasn't got anything to do with it, then they should ask themselves why they are publishing it.
Muslim Terrorist Attack on Seattle Gay Clubtag:4freedoms.com,2014-02-05:3766518:Topic:1444332014-02-05T10:52:16.883ZJoehttp://4freedoms.com/profile/38DD
By Tahir Qadiry BBC News, Kabul

Hamid Zaher is a young Afghan pharmacist, now living in Toronto in Canada. He has defied Afghan tradition by writing a searingly honest memoir about what it was like to be a gay man in Afghanistan.

The book has never been published in his home country, where homosexuality is a criminal offence punishable by death.

Hamid Zaher says that he's always known that he was different.

Growing up in village in the Afghan countryside in the early 1980s, he describes his childhood as a bitterly unhappy time when he was forced to hide his true feelings.

"When I was growing up I was sometimes attracted to men," Hamid told the BBC. "But I didn't really understand my sexual orientation until I was 15 years old."

Hamid says that as a child he always felt more comfortable playing with the girls in his village.

"I wanted to pretend that I wasn't gay," he says. "But it wasn't true, I was living behind a mask."

Eventually what Hamid calls his "feminine traits" began to attract negative comments from friends and relatives.

Marriage pressure

"They started calling me Hamida, the feminine form of my name and 'Izak', a colloquial term for someone who is neither male nor female," he says.

Throughout his student years, Hamid kept quiet about his sexual orientation, fearing not just the stigma but the very real threat that he could be prosecuted and even sentenced to death for being a gay man.

Things came to a head when he was 25 and his mother tried to pressure him into getting married. Unwilling to go through with it, he left the country, going first to Pakistan, then to Iran and Turkey, before eventually settling permanently in Canada in 2008.

"It's not possible to be openly gay in Afghanistan," he added. "I would have been killed by my relatives, let alone the government."

Hamid's book, entitled "It is your enemy who is dock-tailed", is an impassioned and defiant attack on the conservative traditions and prejudices which he says made it impossible for him to carry on living in his home country.

As he writes in his book, the title is an oblique reference to an old Arabic expression which refers to a man without a son as being "dock-tailed" or without any descendants.

"I wrote the book because our rights have been denied," he says. "I don't want other generations of my country to be afraid of their sexualities."

Wall of silence

Although segregation between the sexes means that homosexual activity in private is not unknown in Afghanistan, there is no publicly visible gay community whatsoever.

Professor Dawood Rawish, a sociologist from Kabul University, says it is impossible to know how many gay Afghans there are because people are just too scared to take the risk of coming out.

"This is a big stigma in Afghanistan," he told the BBC. "People see it as an immoral act... According to the law those involved could be punished by death."

The Persian version of Hamid's book, which was published in 2009, has been met with a wall of silence in Afghanistan.

Although it was impossible for him to distribute hard copies inside the country, Hamid made the book available online free of charge.

But such is the taboo that almost no-one wants to comment or even to acknowledge that they've read it.

Afghan human rights officials, contacted by the BBC, refused to comment on whether gay Afghans ever appeal to them for help.

"Afghanistan is a no-go area for gays," said a human rights activist who asked not be named. "Hamid's revelation is revolutionary in today's Afghanistan."

But Hamid's openness has come at a cost. His family have disowned him and he no longer has any contact with any of them.

"My brothers asked me not to publish the book," he says. "But, I didn't want to suppress my feelings any more. I wanted to be the first voice of Afghan gays."

Hamid says the estrangement from his family is a price worth paying.

"I have fulfilled a responsibility and of course living in Canada provided me with that chance. I was ready to die for it, but not to hide it anymore," he said.

"I am who I am. I am happy to be living a life I want, not what my family and the society expect me to live."

See the comment at the end. The Student Union rep is more concerned that someone covertly got the proof of what was being taught in the name of multiculturalism, rather than that fascists openly talked about which minorities they would personally execute.

Student Rights has obtained a video showing a speaker at the Manchester University “Global Aspirations of Women Society” endorsing the execution of gay people:

Student Colin Cortbus attended a meeting at the Students’ Union last Wednesday 13th Februaryorganised by the Global Aspirations of Women society. He asked the chairperson of the meeting if “in the Islamic society in which you strive for” they would “feel comfortable, personally and morally, to kill a gay man?”

“Absolutely” came the response. The speakers added later that homosexuality was an “atrocity, because it goes against what God says”.

Cortbus also asked whether, in the Islamic state that they were advocating, they would feel confident in killing him if he “did something as completely innocent as kiss another man outside the Students’ Union?”

In response, the chair of the meeting said to the small group, “Yeah, absolutely”, adding “But it’s the fact that you can’t just see it as it is. People have this issue that the punishment, penal code, everything is so completely inhumane, but who even says that these things are inhumane?”

Cortbus made the case for a pluralistic Islam, stating that many Muslims would not execute homosexuals and was told “A lot of people would“.

It looks to me – at a very very first glance – that the Global Aspirations of Women Society – is a Hizb ut Tahrir front. It has the ‘look and feel’ of one.

Hizb ut Tahrir is subject to a “no platform” policy by the NUS.

Khadijah Afzal, of the Global Aspirations of Women Society have put up the following response on the society’s Facebook page:

We would like to begin by expressing my concerns regarding the under hand tactics employed by yourself as a means to get a scoop for your newspaper. You would think after the Levenson enquiry regarding the lack of ethics surrounding the journalistic world you would have decided to approach this matter with integrity. Especially since having approached the society and asking whether we would be willing to do an interview which we approved of, you still slyly chose to record the workshop we were holding without our permission or the permission of anyone else that was present.

Secondly, you failed to put our discussion into perspective for the aims of ‘ global aspirations of women’s society endeavours to discuss the plight of women here at home and globally and looks to political alternatives to end oppression, subjugation and the dishonour of women and hence includes Islam as in the debate along with secular/ liberal systems as an alternative. When we look at the discontent in which people are living … (cont. p 94)

Utter filth.

Manchester Students’ Union has announced that they have “initiated an investigation into the story in the Mancunion, both in terms of the student society meeting described and the way in which the information was obtained”:

Cat Gray, the MUSU’s wellbeing officer said: “We are deeply concerned with the covert filming of a student event within the Union. We are also deeply concerned by the suggestion that comments of a homophobic nature have been made.”

It would be something of a mistake for the Students Union to do anything other than applaud Mr Cortbus and Students Rights for bringing the vicious and extreme nature of this organisation to the attention of the public.
