It takes a nation to protect the nation

Artist & Heritage

Artist & Heritage

The artistic and cultural heritage of a society are often targeted by Islam, as a possible threat to its mono-cultural dominance, as first shown by Mohammed's zeal for killing poets (13 in all). When world heritage cultural treasures are destroyed, we are all the victim. Let us remember and protect against these losses.

And yet more destruction of the world's heritage from the thugs of Islam.

Jihadists smash Iraq’s 2,000-year-old statues to dust in new ISIS video

The Islamic State (IS, formerly known as ISIS/ISIL) has released a video of jihadist thugs using sledgehammers and AK-47s to smash what appear to be statues and walls in Hatra, an ancient 2,000-year-old city in Iraq.

In the 7-minute clip, entitled “smashing idols” posted to a militant website often used by IS, jihadists can be seen destroying carved stone faces on the ancient city walls and smashing boulders into the ancient pillars.

The video is slickly made and begins with aerial footage of the site. It is accompanied by the Islamic State’s signature music, found on most of their videos of killing and destruction.A jihadist speaking to camera says the historic site was destroyed because “it is worshipped instead of God.”

IS claims the historic temples and relics are“false idols,” which violate their fundamentalist Islamic views. Authorities believe some of the smaller statues and relics have been sold by the so-called Islamic State on the black market to help fund their campaign.

Hatra is an ancient trading center and dates back to the Seleucid Empire (323-64 B.C.) and is believed to have withstood Roman invasions thanks to its high towers and thick walls. The city’s unique mix of Hellenistic and Roman architecture is a monument “to the greatness of civilization,” according to UNESCO.

It is not completely clear just how much of the ancient city the militants have destroyed.

In March, an Iraqi tourism and antiques ministry official said it had received reports from employees in IS-controlled Mosul that historic sites in Hatra had been completely demolished.

A resident allegedly heard a powerful explosion and said IS had destroyed some of the larger buildings in Hatra, and had bulldozed others.

UNESCO was unable to say conclusively how much damage had taken place even after satellite images were released.

"It is not clear whether damages have taken place to the site [sic]. We're in the process of analyzing the images and comparing them to the previous ones taken at the site," Giovanni Boccardi, of Unesco’s World Heritage Centre, told IBTimes UK.

The latest wanton destruction follows numerous other incidents. In March, Islamic State jihadists pictured themselves destroying Christian relics in churches in Nineveh, the ancient capital of the Assyrian regime, on the eastern banks of the Tigris, also in Iraq.

In the same month, IS destroyed 3,000-year-old winged statues at the Palace of Ashurnasirpal in the ancient Assyrian city of Nimrud. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon called the attack a “war crime.”

I've got a thing for railway steam locomotives. I have actually wept when I have seen them in action. They awake in me a nostalgia and a pride in British engineering achievement, and they epitomize what we have lost, what we are losing, what is carelessly being given away and taken from us. This pride in our heritage, in our nation, our achievements and culture. The great  western civilisation that we have had a significant part in creating. The history of the railways is a history of ourselves. As of course are many other uniquely British events and characteristics and achievements. Genius, investment, determination and hard work.

More historical sites getting the Islamic treatment.

The Muslims are demanding that we rewrite British history, or at least delete anything that might in any way offend a Muslim. The Victoria and Albert may have narrowly escaped a bombing. maybe not. We are going to have to censor the writings of Winston Churchill. On Islam:"as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog,"

Whilst no life has been found in Pakistan, its been reported that Curiosity rover may well have found some on Mars.

Music and Art[edit]

Music, and some other forms of art (including Tattooing),[81] under Islamic law are forbidden. Western music[82] and movies In particular, have been declared as corruptive influences by Islamic clerics. The vast majority[83] of Islamic scholars and all four schools of Islamic jurisprudence[84] are in agreement that listening to, or playing musical instruments, and singing is forbidden. They form this opinion from both the Qur'an and Hadith. The only exception to this rule which can be extracted from the hadith is the permissibility of singing acapella accompanied by a duff (a hand-held one-sided drum) on special occasions (i.e. on weddings, Eid, during jihad etc.)[85] This form of song is referred to as a Nasheed (نشيد), and the striking of the duff is permitted for women only[86] and must not be done in the presense of men.[87] There are several verses within the Qur'an which have been understood by highly respected early scholars and historians of Islam to be condemning music and singing. For example; in verse 31:6, according to the Tafseer of Ibn Kathir, "idle talks" is a reference to "singing and musical instruments."[88] While the Qur'anic verses on music and its prohibition may appear vague to non-scholars, the hadith are a lot clearer in regards to this issue. Authentic sources record Muhammad as saying "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful..."[89] and upon hearing music, Abu Bakr proclaimed "Musical instrument of Satan!"[84] The mere fact that Muhammad condemned music in the same breath as other non-Islamic activities, such as illegal sexual intercourse and drinking alcohol, spoke volumes and the companions (including the four Caliphs) understood.[90] As Abu Bakr rightly stated, unless performed under the various restrictions outlined in Muhammad's Sunnah, music in Islam is considered of the devil.

The Islamic prohibition on images is well known by Muslims, hence the lack of imagery in Islamic religious art. Multiple authentic sources record Muhammad's thoughts on images and representations of living beings (whether real or mythical in nature), and in several he states passionately "The people who will receive the severest punishment from Allah will be the picture makers."[91] In another he says "All the painters who make pictures would be in the fire of Hell. The soul will be breathed in every picture prepared by him and it shall punish him in the Hell."[92] Muhammad refused to enter any home which was decorated with images,[93] and claimed angels would do the same with any home which contained pictures or dogs[94] He once refused to enter the home of one of his wives (Aisha) when he noticed the decorated cushion she had purchased for him to sit on.[95] In Aisha's own words "I noticed the signs of hatred (for that) on his face!" She turned to Allah and Muhammad for repentance.[96] On another occasion, Muhammad angrily tore to pieces a carpet, hung by Aisha to screen a door.[97]

During the Taliban rule of Afghanistan between 1996 and late 2001, all forms of music and Television (i.e. moving pictures) were banned. TV sets, radios, etc were confiscated and burnt, and anyone caught with cassettes in their possession were jailed.[98] In early 2001, they destroyed the historic 1,400 year old giant (175 and 120 feet tall) Buddha Statues which were located in the Bamyan Valley's.[99] While their actions may be called 'extreme', they were only adhering to a somewhat accurate interpretation of Islamic law based on the Sunnah of their prophet. Just as Muhammad had done before them, when he conquered Mecca and destroyed the 360 pagan idols which were housed at the Ka'aba, the Taliban were only destroying Afghanistan's offensive (to Muslims) pre-Islamic 'pagan' heritage and art. If the Taliban's actions are denounced by apologists as 'un-Islamic', then they must also denounce Muhammad's. The truth of the matter is that their actions were very Islamic.

Let's face it, Islam is against freedom of expression whatever form it takes.

Muslim Terrorism Count

Thousands of Deadly Islamic Terror Attacks Since 9/11

Mission Overview

Most prosperous Western societies are based on a model we call the Secular Democratic Marketplace (SDM). Whilst that model has been very successful, it has defects. The 4 Freedoms address 4 of the principal vulnerabilities, and gives corrections to them.

At the moment, one of the principal agents exploiting these defects, is Islam. Therefore, this site pays particular attention to that threat.

Islam, operating at the micro and macro levels, is unstoppable by individuals, hence: "It takes a nation to protect the nation". There is not enough time to fight all its attacks; nor to read them; nor even to record them. So 4F gives only a brief overview of how far it has advanced and by what methods.

We hope that free nations will wake up to stop the threat, and force the separation of (Islamic) Church and State. This will also allow Muslims the possibility of escape from their totalitarian political system.

The 4 Freedoms

These 4 freedoms are designed to close the 4 vulnerabilities in the standard model of SDM, by making them Self-Protecting (SP) according to Hobbes's first law of nature.
1. SP Freedom of Speech
Any speech is allowed - except that advocating the end of these freedoms
2. SP Freedom of Election
Any party is allowed - except one advocating the end of these freedoms
3. SP Freedom from Religion
Religious and cultural activities are exempt from legal oversight - except where they intrude into the public sphere (Res Publica)
4. SP Freedom from Voter Importation
Immigration is allowed only if it can be shown not to favour any political party
