Teachers 'assaulted and marginalised in Islamising plot’

Khalid Mahmood, Labour MP for Birmingham Perry Barr, alleges 'Trojan Horse' plan to import hardline views into schools

Staff at one of the Birmingham schools targeted by Muslim hardliners in the so-called “Trojan Horse” plot were assaulted as part of a campaign against the school management, official documents show.

The disclosure comes as one local Muslim MP said he was certain there was an “extensive operation” to import fundamentalist views into supposedly secular state schools and “split young people away from their parents”.

Khalid Mahmood, Labour MP for Birmingham Perry Barr, accused Birmingham city council of being “complicit” in the alleged plot and attacked the purported ringleader, Tahir Alam, saying: “It is very appropriately named Trojan Horse – that’s exactly what he has been doing.”

Mr Alam, the chairman of governors at one of the schools allegedly taken over, Park View, says the plot is a fabrication and denies any involvement.

The Telegraph can disclose new details of problems revealed at Park View by a highly unusual two snap Ofsted inspections earlier this month.

Lindsey Clark, the respected executive head who has an OBE for services to education, told the inspectors that she had been marginalised and that all decisions at the school were taken by Mr Alam and a small group of hardliners, including one senior teacher who has praised the al-Qaeda ideologue Anwar al-Awlaki at school assemblies. Other staff also said that they felt sidelined.

Inspectors were openly told by one senior teacher that the solution to Muslim problems would be the creation of a global Islamic state under sharia law, a key demand of extremists.

“It felt like a faith school. Islam permeated everything,” said a source close to the investigation. “All the citizenship teaching was about being a good Muslim and there was nothing that prepared pupils for life in modern Britain.”

Concerns have also been raised about Park View’s hiring procedures. Teachers at the school said that two people with virtually no teaching experience had been made subject heads, posts normally reached only after many years in the job.

One of the new subject heads had only just qualified as a teacher and the other, only a year or so more experienced, is his uncle.

“The suspicion is that they were appointed for their religious sympathies and their personal connections,” said a teacher.

The problems led Ofsted to rule that the school’s leadership and management were “inadequate,” a verdict which would lead to it being placed in “special measures” and could see Mr Alam removed. However, a spokesman for Park View said it would sue the watchdog to overturn the judgment and prevent the report being published.

In a Twitter post, since deleted, Lee Donaghy, Park View’s assistant head, said that the school was “preparing an extensive legal challenge” to Ofsted.

In an exchange with Michael Cladingbowl, Ofsted’s national director for schools, he criticised the conduct of the inspection and asked: “Do you consider it appropriate that an Ofsted judgment is leaked to the press before that judgment has been subject to QA [quality assurance] and before the report has been published?”

The school has also hired an expensive London PR firm, Communitas, as part of a media fightback.

Mr Alam claimed last week that the focus on his school was part of a “witch hunt” motivated by “Islamophobia”. However, he has refused to deny any of the charges raised by The Telegraph. Another Birmingham school closely linked to Mr Alam, Al-Hijrah, took legal action against Ofsted last year to suppress a finding of “inadequate” against the school. It lost and the report was published, albeit with a delay.

Sources close to another secular school targeted by the hardliners, Anderton Park, say that the lives of successive non-Muslim head teachers have been made a “misery” by radical religious governors and parents determined to stop the teaching of PE and music, regarded as sinful by hardline Muslims.

“There is one governor that controls the meetings,” said the spouse of a staff member. “He has always got an agenda, he hijacks meetings and tries to bring this stuff in.”

Minutes of the governors’ meetings, seen by The Telegraph, show that campaigns of pressure against Anderton Park date back at least four years. In 2010, a group of parents formed a “breakaway parents’ committee” and withdrew their children from PE, which is compulsory in the National Curriculum.

The head teacher at the time, Anne Bufton, said this was part of an attempt to “take over existing schools” and that “several local head teachers had expressed concern”. The minutes show that Mr Alam offered advice to the school, saying that they should provide segregated changing facilities for PE.

The following year, say the minutes, a “leafleting campaign” was organised against the school which “upset” children. At around the same time, the minutes said, there were a number of “assaults on staff” which were being “pursued by the local authority”.

Last month the governing body at Anderton Park voted 8-7 to “Islamise” collective worship at the school. The decision was greeted with delight by a group of hardline teachers, governors and school consultants calling themselves “Educational Activists”, who pursue what their leader calls an “Islamising agenda” in Birmingham schools and who convene on the WhatsApp instant messaging service.

In their WhatsApp messages, which have been leaked to this newspaper, members of the group celebrated that Anderton Park was now “polarised on faith grounds”. At its meeting last week, according to sources at the school, Anderton Park’s governing body voted to discipline a governor who admitted being in contact with the Educational Activists group.

It can also be revealed that two members of the group have key roles in the training and recruitment of teachers and governors in Birmingham.

One is Najma Begum, the managing director of Transform Training and Recruitment, a consultancy which has recruited dozens of teachers to Birmingham schools and is currently advertising 43 teaching jobs in Birmingham on its website.

In her messages with the group, Ms Begum says there needs to be training of “governors and education leaders from an Islamic perspective…on how we can assist governance within [the] mainstream”.

Another member of the group is Rebecca Williams, a governor at Wyndcliffe school in the city and a trainer of school governors for Birmingham City Council, where she works with Mr Alam.

In the leaked messages, she writes: “The previous head teacher [at Wyndcliffe] conveniently retired and there is alhamdulillah [thank God] a new head who is committed to the pupils. However, the chair and vice chair, and deputy head who spent the last term aggressively attacking me for querying low standards, are all still in place. I pray Allah gives the children the standard of school they deserve.”

Another secular school allegedly taken over, Oldknow Primary, will be given an emergency inspection by Ofsted this week after The Telegraph revealed that its successful non-Muslim head teacher, Bhupinder Kondal, had been driven out, subsidised school trips to Mecca were organised and children were led in anti-Christian chanting by a teacher at assembly. Four of the six-strong senior management team have left in the last six months.

Many Muslim parents at Oldknow oppose what has been happening. “This is not supposed to be a faith-based school and we did not send our daughter to a faith-based school,” said one Muslim father, who has complained to his MP and to Ofsted.

“After your article last week I asked my daughter what had happened to Mrs Kondal and she recited a script. It was as if all the children had been drilled. For me, it’s got to a point now where I need to do something.”

Park View School declined to comment.

I've seen muslim academics (at Leftist universities) claiming that the reports of this take-over are fantasies.  If I see that report again, I'll include the details in this story.  It shows how these muslim/leftist academics are enabling/defending these activities.

Fury as fanatic who trained 7/7 bomber sets up Islamic PRIMARY SCHOOL in Britain

  • Sajeel Shahid ran a camp where he taught combat and bomb-making skills
  • Mohamed Siddique Khan was one of the men who trained with him there
  • British-born jihadist was detained in then expelled from Pakistan in 2005
  • He then set up the £2,000-a-year Ad-Deen primary school in Ilford, Essex

I can't wait to see the traitors in control of this country being publicly executed.

All the money the state spent persecuting Tommy Robinson, but they can't be bothered to keep checks on people like him (or the convicted Mafia boss who the CPS allowed to escape deportation).

The school has also hired an expensive London PR firm, Communitas, as part of a media fightback.

A typical Islamic tactic.  They are good at using our money to turn our systems against us.  I thought schools were desperately short of money for books and staff and so on?  Whatever.

There are now 12 entryist islamo-nazi schools being investigated in Britain.

It's like 2010, all over again. Any day now, the "moderate" muslims at Quilliam will post an article decrying the 12 schools in Britain being run by the BNP.

Teacher says: "the takeover began 20 years ago".

Looks like this is another arena in which the teaching unions have been complicit for 20 years.  Just like they have with the grooming gangs.

That his allegations 20 years ago were ignored does not surpise me.  Around that time I witnessed a large firm of muslim lawyers blatantly committing fraud on a grand scale, in broad daylight.  I contacted The Law Society and told them what was going on, and they weren't interested.  They only took down the details when I told them I would go to the media and report that The Law Society condoned this fraud.  A year later, the solicitors offices were raided, and some of them went to prison.

The "Trojan Horse” affair in Birmingham was merely the “tip of the iceberg” of Islamist infiltration in British schools, according to the man appointed by the Government to investigate the scandal.

He strongly disputed a statement made two weeks ago by Nicky Morgan, the new Education Secretary, that ministers had “got to the bottom of the issue”. Asked if he agreed with the claim, made on BBC Radio WM, Mr Clarke said: “Of course the Government hasn’t got to the bottom of the Trojan Horse affair, nowhere near it.

“You haven’t got to the bottom of it until you’ve proved or disproved whether there is something similar happening elsewhere [outside Birmingham].

“What I put in my report was the tip of the iceberg. There is a huge amount of material which I didn’t put in. I deliberately focused on what appeared to be the epicentre. There were problems elsewhere which I couldn’t evidence sufficiently in the time available.

He also attacked the NASUWT teaching union, which represented Balwant Bains, the head of Saltley School, who was forced out by the plotters. Mr Clarke’s report, based on evidence from Mr Bains, said that, instead of defending their member, the union told him to resign and to sign a gagging deal, known as a “compromise agreement”. Mr Bains “suspected that the idea of a compromise agreement had originated with the union”, the report said.

Chris Keates, the NASUWT’s general secretary, is threatening to sue Mr Bains unless he signs a statement absolving the union of any blame,

The Trojan Horse problem in Birmingham was known about 20 years ago, but was ignored.

My, my, my... All the things we knew had to be true about Birmingham are coming out.  And this is the area where the police prosecuted Channel 4 for racism, for documenting what was being said in mosques.

I had communist university lecturer friends who lived in the area described in that report.  20 years ago, they would not hear a word of criticism said about islam.  Even though I was a deluded Leftist at the time I used to raise the subject of the shocking behaviour of Pakistani muslims in Birmingham after Ramadan, only to be told that I only noticed these things because of my residual racism.

And again I raise the point, the various "racial disturbances" which were dismissed as acts of white prejudice - perhaps theywere in fact an exasperated and justified response to the depradations of Islam? We will probably necer know the truth. The Stalinistic whitewashing of history is complete by now.

I also note that that article is the first mainstream media report I've seen to use the Bill Warner term "Political Islam". Things are changing.

Muslim Terrorism Count

Thousands of Deadly Islamic Terror Attacks Since 9/11

Mission Overview

Most Western societies are based on Secular Democracy, which itself is based on the concept that the open marketplace of ideas leads to the optimum government. Whilst that model has been very successful, it has defects. The 4 Freedoms address 4 of the principal vulnerabilities, and gives corrections to them.

At the moment, one of the main actors exploiting these defects, is Islam, so this site pays particular attention to that threat.

Islam, operating at the micro and macro levels, is unstoppable by individuals, hence: "It takes a nation to protect the nation". There is not enough time to fight all its attacks, nor to read them nor even to record them. So the members of 4F try to curate a representative subset of these events.

We need to capture this information before it is removed.  The site already contains sufficient information to cover most issues, but our members add further updates when possible.

We hope that free nations will wake up to stop the threat, and force the separation of (Islamic) Church and State. This will also allow moderate Muslims to escape from their totalitarian political system.

The 4 Freedoms

These 4 freedoms are designed to close 4 vulnerabilities in Secular Democracy, by making them SP or Self-Protecting (see Hobbes's first law of nature). But Democracy also requires - in addition to the standard divisions of Executive, Legislature & Judiciary - a fourth body, Protector of the Open Society (POS), to monitor all its vulnerabilities (see also Popper).
1. SP Freedom of Speech
Any speech is allowed - except that advocating the end of these freedoms
2. SP Freedom of Election
Any party is allowed - except one advocating the end of these freedoms
3. SP Freedom from Voter Importation
Immigration is allowed - except where that changes the political demography (this is electoral fraud)
4. SP Freedom from Debt
The Central Bank is allowed to create debt - except where that debt burden can pass across a generation (25 years).

An additional Freedom from Religion is deducible if the law is applied equally to everyone:

  • Religious and cultural activities are exempt from legal oversight except where they intrude into the public sphere (Res Publica)"
