Many people are unaware of the pivotal role in the slave trade played by Muslim merchants that brought the slaves to the coast for sale, and are similarly unaware that slavery was still practised by several Islamic states well into the 20th century.  White slaves were even captured by Muslim raiders from the coasts of Europe and Britain and taken back to the Middle East. Indeed, there was a defined process of ransom for recovering those who were well enough connected. Slavery is codified in the Islamic scriptrures, and is still practised even today in Sudan, under the authority of those texts.

Timeline
1441: European slavery in Africa begins  http://www.brycchancarey.com/slavery/chrono2.htm
1590: U.K. slavery begins?
1619: U.S. slavery begins  http://www.history.com/topics/black-history/slavery
1776: U.S. founded
1833: UK abolishes slavery
1865: U.S. ends a bitter 4 year civil war to end slavery

So there was under 250 years of slavery by the UK and under 100 years by the "U.S."
Never mind that Islamic slavery and went on from 600AD till now.
Never mind that Islamic slavery took nearly as many slaves and castrated them.
Never mind that white Christians got slavery abolished, unlike Muslims that still do it now, and still have slavery, and even sex slaves, codified in the official texts of Sharia Law.

Reliance of the Traveler is the classic manual of Islamic Sacred Law written by Ahmad ibn Naqib al-Misri (d 1368 AD). For those of us who do not know Arabic, Nuh Ha Mim Keller provided a revised edition which shows Arabic and English in parallel (Amana publications 1991).  It is an essential resource for people studying Islam and is an important part of the Shariah, including the Quran and the Hadiths (the words and example of Mohammad). According to Wikipedia, many countries in the world use at least part of the Shariah in their legal system, including Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brunei, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Gaza Strip, Ghana, India, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Uganda, West Bank, and Yemen.

K32.1 Women and children of the land that has been conquered are considered booty of the war and they are considered slaves. Everything belongs to the Imam first and after he takes a fifth of the booty the rest is given to the soldiers who were involved in the war. If the slave becomes a Muslim this conversion does not set him free and he will stay a slave. Captivity is the absolute consequence of Muslims war with non-Muslims and is not exclusive to elementary Jihad or defensive Jihad, even in the presence of the prophet or Imam and with their permission. If Jihad was done without the permission of prophet or Imam, all the booty is given to the Imam.

K32.2 If the father and mother were brought as slaves all the children are considered slaves. Being a slave is inherited from parents to child. If the parents convert to Islam the children will still be slaves, and they belong to the owner of their family. The master can sell the children to someone else without the parents’ consent. Male slaves and female slaves are considered the property of their master and he is allowed to treat them the way he wants. The satisfaction of the slave does not matter. The slave is responsible to keep his/her master satisfied. The slave eats, drinks and wears whatever the master decides and must live where the master says. He/she should clothe him/herself the way the master decides and speak and behave the way the master says.

K32.3 The master who owns a woman slave can use her in any way for his sexual pleasure; he can marry her if he wants. In intercourse the satisfaction of the female slave is not important at all. The female slave does not have to be Muslim convert. Even if she is pagan the sexual intercourse is Halal (permissible). A female Muslim is not allowed to have sexual relation with her slave without marriage. The male slaves are considered “mahram (impermissible, taboo)”.  The Koran has emphasized this point. The Mola (Master) not only has the right to marry his female slave without her consent but he is also allowed to lend her to another man without her consent to have sexual intercourse without marriage. He also has the authority to marry her to one of his male slaves.

K32.4 The master is allowed to cancel the marriage of his male and female slaves without “Talagh (divorce)”. It is enough for the master to order them to separate and they must obey. The female slave does not have to hide her hair, neck and head while saying Muslim prayer “Namaz “. The Hijab of the female slave must be different from those of the wife and daughters of the master.

Over in the Alinsky Room, there are indications that loonwatch.com isn't run be devoted leftists, but is secretly supported by a successful Muslim lawyer.

After that, I'm going to be cautious about any sites which target the CJ movement, or seem particularly anti-European.  It would make perfect sense for Muslims to target their enemies more effectively by such a kind of 'false flag' operations.

http://www.arabslavetrade.com/

Despite the name of this site, it seems to want to blame "Europeans" rather than arab [muslims] for the slave trade.

It designates 5 interest groups around the issue of the African slave trade.

European Christians, Afrocentrics, Muslims (general), Muslims (African/Black), Jews (European).

Strangely American christians have no involvement.  Neither to any middle-eastern jews.

The site doesn't even want to talk about Arabs as a "racial" group.

A large population of Arabs are White (no less physically white when compared to Spanish or Italians). However because of the classification of whiteness which is sensitive to consanguinity, religion, politics and culture, some Arab groups are non-white politically and socially while being white physically.

So, white arabs can actually be black, according to this "logic". The stupidity continues:

The first mistake or misnomer in the study of the Arab slave trade is the term “Arab.” The so-called Arab trade is not solely an Arab enterprise. The term for political reasons is used in that context for “saleability.” It is a terrible day for history when convenient packaging labels are employed for ease of academic and political digestion. The majority of people in Iran are not Arabs, the same for Morocco, Tunisia, Western Sahara, Mauritania and Libya.

WHOIS says this about the site:

Registrant:
   African Holocaust Society

   Registered through: Go Daddy
   Domain Name: ARABSLAVETRADE.COM

Looking into the African Holocaust Society, it is clear that they are homophobic (but are attempting to mask the homophobia by asking "questions" which are really loaded statements.

Islam is a lie and Mohammed is the father of the lie.  The Qur'an is the constitution of a slave and slave-making society.  The slave masters, i.e. the top slaves (who are slaves to Allah), are called Muslims and they make up the Umma, the nation of believers.  They are destined and called by Allah to rule over the lower slaves, i.e. non-Muslims, who are called dhimmis.  If the dhimmis do not accept the status designated by their masters then war and death is their fate.  It is time to turn back the Islamic tide before it is too late.  We need to stop all concessions granted to Islam and cleanse society of all Islamic influences which are not compatible with Western Civilisation.  Kinana Nadir

Sultan Tabendeh in his Muslim Commentary on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights says that in islamic law slavery "is a legal condition", but that it is no longer fashionable.  This is a book that dates from 1967 (translated into English in 1970).

The translator of The Reliance of Traveller mentions that he forwent the translation of the sections on slavery.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umdat_al-Salik_wa_Uddat_al-Nasik Wikipedia can state "However, the question of slavery in Islam in modern times is one which most traditional scholars consider of only theoretical interest, as the practice is no longer prevalent."  It is "of only theoretical interest" because they are ashamed of it.  Muslim fundamentalists want to appeal to 14th century legal texts such as The Reliance, and have no problem with executing homosexuals, stoning adulterers, and chopping off limbs.  If such modern-day fundamentalists knew that slavery was also endorsed by islam, they might be less willing to extol fundamentalism.  They would at least have a harder time justifying their medieval legal system.

We should not be fooled by the fact that islamic texts translated in the last 30 to 40 years gloss over the endorsement of slavery throughout the preceding 1300 years of islam.

Books such as Islam's Black Slaves point out not only that islam enslaved as many black africans as in the atlantic slave trade, but when the British tried to eliminate slave trading in the 19th century, islamic countries massively increased the number of slaves they took (indeed the enslaved more black africans in that century than in any other century).  Whilst the condition of slavery was basically an aberration in christian europe, it was the norm in islamic countries.

When conditions are right (e.g. oil/petrol runs out) islamic countries will have no moral or legal issues in re-introducing slavery - that much is clear from Tabandeh and The Reliance. The exploitation of fossil fuels allows many societies to have standards of living in the last 40 years that would have been confined to kings or sultans a few hundred years ago.  Rather than go back to the discomforts of a society without cheap fossil fuels, we will undoubtedly see justifications for slavery rear their head.  And islamic law is by far and away the most prevalent ideology in the modern world which justifies slavery.

To me this is one of the single most important points to make when arguing with the supporters of islam.

Last year I saw muslim fundamentalists deny that sharia law endorses slavery.  In the past few months I have seen them admit it and say "we have nothing to be ashamed of about slavery and sharia".

Quranic sanction of slavery

The institution of slavery in Islam was formalized in the following Quranic verse, in which Allah distinguishes free human beings or masters, who exercise justice and righteousness, from the dumb, useless and burdensome ones, the slaves:

Allah sets forth (another) Parable of two men: one of them dumb, with no power of any sort; a wearisome burden is he to his master; whichever way he directs him, he brings no good: is such a man equal with one who commands Justice, and is on a Straight Way? [Quran 16:76]

Allah warns the believers against taking the slaves as equal partner in status and in sharing their wealth, lest they have to fear them as anyone else:

…do ye have partners among those whom your right hands possess (i.e., slaves, captives) to share as equals in the wealth We have bestowed on you? Do ye fear them as ye fear each other? [Quran 30:28][1]

Allah recognizes some human beings, namely the masters, as more blessed by Himself than the less favored slaves as part of His divine plan. He warns Muslims against sharing His gifts to them equally with their slaves. Those who would take slaves as equal, warns Allah, would deny Him:

Allah has bestowed His gifts of sustenance more freely on some of you than on others: those more favoured are not going to throw back their gifts to those whom their right hands possess, so as to be equal in that respect. Will they then deny the favours of Allah? [Quran 16:71]

Allah does not only sanction the institution of slavery, He also gave divine blessing to masters (Muslim men only can own slaves) to have sex with the female slaves:

And those who guard their private parts, Except in the case of their wives or those whom their right hands possess—for these surely are not to be blamed [Quran 70:29–30]

And who guard their private parts, Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable [Quran 23:5–6]

Therefore, if there are women amongst the captives or slaves, Muslims are divinely sanctioned to have sex with them as they do with their wives. This verdict of Allah founded the institution of sex-slavery or slave-concubinage in Islam, which was widespread in the pre-colonial Muslim world and continued well into the mid-twentieth century. As far as legal marriage is concerned, there is a limitation of four wives for a man at one time [Quran 4:3], but no such limitation on the number of sex-slaves.

Allah also gave a divine sanction to Muslims for acquiring female slaves for sexual engagement by waging wars against the infidels:

O Prophet! surely We have made lawful to you your wives whom you have given their dowries, and those whom your right hand possesses out of those whom Allah has given to you as prisoners of war [Quran 33:50]

And here is how Allah commands Muslims to capture slaves:

(Allah) brought those of the People of the Scripture… and cast panic into their hearts. Some (adult males) ye slew, and ye made captive some (women and children).’ (Quran 33:26–27)

In other words, to help Muslims to fulfill Allah’s command of engaging in slavery, Allah will strike terror into heart of the infidels (Jews, Christians and others) — so that Muslims can easily defeat them. After defeating, commands Allah, Muslims will slay some of the surrendered, namely the men, and make the rest, the women and children, captives (i.e. slaves).

And that’s exactly the protocol Prophet Muhammad had put into action in his lifetime — a few instances of which have been cited above. And later Muslims could not ignore Allah’s command and Prophet Muhammad’s examples, emulating which is incumbent upon Muslims at all times. Islamic history, since Muhammad, has witnessed exactly that until the West, having abolished slavery in their own backyards, worked hard and diligently to suppress slavery in the Muslim world, and later banned it globally through the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Europe banned slavery in 1815, but Saudi Arabia banned it only in 1962 and Islamic Mauritania in 1980. Yet, beyond what Islamic nations have accepted on pen and paper, slavery still exists in Saudi Arabia and Mauritania, while it has been revived in Sudan after Islamists took power in 1985; Sudanese government-sponsored Islamic militia have raided and enslaved tens of thousands of the predominantly Christian women and children in Southern Sudan, just as did Prophet Muhammad. Muhammad is, indeed, an ideal example for Muslims to follow at all time as says Allah (Quran 68:4, 33:21).

Muslim Terrorism Count

Thousands of Deadly Islamic Terror Attacks Since 9/11

Mission Overview

Most Western societies are based on Secular Democracy, which itself is based on the concept that the open marketplace of ideas leads to the optimum government. Whilst that model has been very successful, it has defects. The 4 Freedoms address 4 of the principal vulnerabilities, and gives corrections to them.

At the moment, one of the main actors exploiting these defects, is Islam, so this site pays particular attention to that threat.

Islam, operating at the micro and macro levels, is unstoppable by individuals, hence: "It takes a nation to protect the nation". There is not enough time to fight all its attacks, nor to read them nor even to record them. So the members of 4F try to curate a representative subset of these events.

We need to capture this information before it is removed.  The site already contains sufficient information to cover most issues, but our members add further updates when possible.

We hope that free nations will wake up to stop the threat, and force the separation of (Islamic) Church and State. This will also allow moderate Muslims to escape from their totalitarian political system.

The 4 Freedoms

These 4 freedoms are designed to close 4 vulnerabilities in Secular Democracy, by making them SP or Self-Protecting (see Hobbes's first law of nature). But Democracy also requires - in addition to the standard divisions of Executive, Legislature & Judiciary - a fourth body, Protector of the Open Society (POS), to monitor all its vulnerabilities (see also Popper).
1. SP Freedom of Speech
Any speech is allowed - except that advocating the end of these freedoms
2. SP Freedom of Election
Any party is allowed - except one advocating the end of these freedoms
3. SP Freedom from Voter Importation
Immigration is allowed - except where that changes the political demography (this is electoral fraud)
4. SP Freedom from Debt
The Central Bank is allowed to create debt - except where that debt burden can pass across a generation (25 years).

An additional Freedom from Religion is deducible if the law is applied equally to everyone:

  • Religious and cultural activities are exempt from legal oversight except where they intrude into the public sphere (Res Publica)"
