Of course there is Netflix and Bollywood and other businesses eating away at their core business model, but I'm not focussing on that here.

What I am thinking about is the disconnect between their moral preening and virtue signalling, and the people they are preaching to and supposedly representing.

For a start, there are a lot of people like me now who can't stand most Hollywood movies because I don't want to have some self-elected moral emperor telling me what is good and what is evil.

But also I recently watched (because it was a special offer) and because I'm a bit obsessed with submarines, Hunter Killer:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1846589

It has all the standard tropes in it. The woman who is smarter than all the guys who just don't get it. The black guy who knows how to be cool while the white guy wets his pants.

But its also surprisingly out of kilter with submarine life, naval life and military life. Like, they built a new set for this, so why did they make the ceiling ridiculously high? They try load a massive torpedo into a tube by hand, and fail, almost crushing someone. Really? This isn't 1945 and Das Boot for heaven's sake. At one point the US captain is trying to convince the Russian captain so he appeals to things they have in common like a love of freedom and basic human rights (LOL), and the loneliness and boredom they suffer under the seas for 3 months at a time. But for the latter point, thats not how I understand the life of a submarine captain.

Finally, to cap all this off, we have the Hollywood obsession with Special Forces, but I don't think the Special Forces are particularly enamoured with Hollywood anymore. For a start, I don't see how those tasked with the dangerous job of defending our borders, can get on well with a whole raft of people that want to dismantle our borders.

The latest contradiction concerns Don Shipley. He's a former leader of Seal Team 6, a real legend now, who now spends time exposing Stolen Valour by guys in the US boasting of a military record which is fake. He exposed the lying fake 'tribal elder' Nathan Philips, so in turn the Leftist media descended on him. I don't see how serving Special Forces members can see this and not instantly hate Facebook and the whole Leftist cabale that goes with it.

Dec. 13, 2001 -- Following is a transcript of the videotape released by the Pentagon of Osama bin Laden, that U.S. officials say provides additional evidence that the al Qaeda leader is responsible for the Sept. 11 terror attacks. Source: U.S. Defense Department.

TRANSCRIPT OF USAMA BIN LADEN VIDEO TAPE

(Transcript and annotations independently prepared by George Michael, translator, Diplomatic Language Services; and Dr. Kassem M. Wahba, Arabic language program coordinator, School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University. They collaborated on their translation and compared it with translations done by the U.S. government for consistency. There were no inconsistencies in the translations.)

In mid-November, Usama Bin Laden spoke to a room of supporters, possibly in Qandahar, Afghanistan. These comments were video taped with the knowledge of Bin Laden and all present.

Note: The tape is approximately one hour long and contains three different segments: an original taping of a visit by some people to the site of the downed U.S. helicopter in Ghazni province (approximately 12 minutes long); and two segments documenting a courtesy visit by Bin Laden and his lieutenants to an unidentified Shaykh, who appears crippled from the waist down. The visit apparently takes place at a guesthouse in Qandahar. The sequence of the events is reversed on the tape- the end of his visit is in the beginning of the tape with the helicopter site visit in the middle and the start of the Usama bin Laden visit beginning approximately 39 minutes into the tape. The tape is transcribed below according to the proper sequence of events.

Due to the quality of the original tape, it is NOT a verbatim transcript of every word spoken during the meeting, but does convey the messages and information flow.

EDITOR'S NOTE: 39 minutes into tape, first segment of the bin Laden meeting, begins after footage of helicopter site visit

Shaykh: (...inaudible...) You have given us weapons, you have given us hope and we thank Allah for you. We don't want to take much of your time, but this is the arrangement of the brothers. People now are supporting us more, even those ones who did not support us in the past, support us more now. I did not want to take that much of your time. We praise Allah, we praise Allah. We came from Kabul. We were very pleased to visit. May Allah bless you both at home and the camp. We asked the driver to take us, it was a night with a full moon, thanks be to Allah. Believe me it is not in the country side. The elderly...everybody praises what you did, the great action you did, which was first and foremost by the grace of Allah. This is the guidance of Allah and the blessed fruit of jihad.

UBL: Thanks to Allah. What is the stand of the Mosques there (in Saudi Arabia)? Shaykh: Honestly, they are very positive. Shaykh Al-Bahrani (phonetic) gave a good sermon in his class after the sunset prayers. It was videotaped and I was supposed to carry it with me, but unfortunately, I had to leave immediately. UBL: The day of the events?

Shaykh: At the exact time of the attack on America, precisely at the time. He (Bahrani) gave a very impressive sermon. Thanks be to Allah for his blessings. He (Bahrani) was the first one to write at war time. I visited him twice in Al-Qasim.

UBL: Thanks be to Allah.

Shaykh: This is what I asked from Allah. He (Bahrani) told the youth: "You are asking for martyrdom and wonder where you should go (for martyrdom)?" Allah was inciting them to go. I asked Allah to grant me to witness the truth in front of the unjust ruler. We ask Allah to protect him and give him the martyrdom, after he issued the first fatwa. He was detained for interrogation, as you know. When he was called in and asked to sign, he told them, "don't waste my time, I have another fatwa. If you want me, I can sign both at the same time."

UBL: Thanks be to Allah.

Shaykh: His position is really very encouraging. When I paid him the first visit about a year and half ago, he asked me, "How is Shaykh Bin-Ladin?" He sends you his special regards. As far as Shaykh Sulayman 'Ulwan is concerned, he gave a beautiful fatwa, may Allah bless him. Miraculously, I heard it on the Quran radio station. It was strange because he ('Ulwan) sacrificed his position, which is equivalent to a director. It was transcribed word-by-word. The brothers listened to it in detail. I briefly heard it before the noon prayers. He ('Ulwan) said this was jihad and those people were not innocent people (World Trade Center and Pentagon victims). He swore to Allah. This was transmitted to Shaykh Sulayman Al (('Umar)) Allah bless him.

UBL: What about Shaykh Al-((Rayan))?

Shaykh: Honestly, I did not meet with him. Those young men (...inaudible...) said in deeds, in New York and Washington, speeches that overshadowed all other speeches made everywhere else in the world. The speeches are understood by both Arabs and non-Arabs-even by Chinese. It is above all the media said. Some of them said that in Holland, at one of the centers, the number of people who accepted Islam during the days that followed the operations were more than the people who accepted Islam in the last eleven years. I heard someone on Islamic radio who owns a school in America say: "We don't have time to keep up with the demands of those who are asking about Islamic books to learn about Islam." This event made people think (about true Islam) which benefited Islam greatly.

Shaykh: Hundreds of people used to doubt you and few only would follow you until this huge event happened. Now hundreds of people are coming out to join you. I remember a vision by Shaykh Salih Al-((Shuaybi)). He said: "There will be a great hit and people will go out by hundreds to Afghanistan." I asked him (Salih): "To Afghanistan?" He replied, "Yes." According to him, the only ones who stay behind will be the mentally impotent and the liars (hypocrites). I remembered his saying that hundreds of people will go out to Afghanistan. He had this vision a year ago. This event discriminated between the different types of followers.

UBL: (...Inaudible...) we calculated in advance the number of casualties from the enemy, who would be killed based on the position of the tower. We calculated that the floors that would be hit would be three or four floors. I was the most optimistic of them all.(...Inaudible...) due to my experience in this field, I was thinking that the fire from the gas in the plane would melt the iron structure of the building and collapse the area where the plane hit and all the floors above it only. This is all that we had hoped for.

Shaykh: Allah be praised.

UBL: We were at (...inaudible...) when the event took place. We had notification since the previous Thursday that the event would take place that day. We had finished our work that day and had the radio on. It was 5:30 p.m. our time. I was sitting with Dr. Ahmad Abu-al-((Khair)). Immediately, we heard the news that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. We turned the radio station to the news from Washington. The news continued and no mention of the attack until the end. At the end of the newscast, they reported that a plane just hit the World Trade Center.

Shaykh: Allah be praised.

UBL: After a little while, they announced that another plane had hit the World Trade Center. The brothers who heard the news were overjoyed by it.

Shaykh: I listened to the news and I was sitting. We didn't...we were not thinking about anything, and all of a sudden, Allah willing, we were talking about how come we didn't have anything, and all of a sudden the news came and everyone was overjoyed and everyone until the next day, in the morning, was talking about what was happening and we stayed until four o'clock, listening to the news every time a little bit different, everyone was very joyous and saying "Allah is great," "Allah is great," "We are thankful to Allah," "Praise Allah." And I was happy for the happiness of my brothers. That day the congratulations were coming on the phone non-stop. The mother was receiving phone calls continuously. Thank Allah. Allah is great, praise be to Allah.

(Quoting the verse from the Quran)

Shaykh: "Fight them, Allah will torture them, with your hands, he will torture them. He will deceive them and he will give you victory. Allah will forgive the believers, he is knowledgeable about everything."

Shaykh: No doubt it is a clear victory. Allah has bestowed on us...honor on us...and he will give us blessing and more victory during this holy month of Ramadan. And this is what everyone is hoping for. Thank Allah America came out of its caves. We hit her the first hit and the next one will hit her with the hands of the believers, the good believers, the strong believers. By Allah it is a great work. Allah prepares for you a great reward for this work. I'm sorry to speak in your presence, but it is just thoughts, just thoughts. By Allah, who there is no god but him. I live in happiness, happiness...I have not experienced, or felt, in a long time. I remember, the words of Al-Rabbani, he said they made a coalition against us in the winter with the infidels like the Turks, and others, and some other Arabs. And they surrounded us like the days...in the days of the prophet Muhammad. Exactly like what's happening right now. But he comforted his followers and said, "This is going to turn and hit them back." And it is a mercy for us. And a blessing to us. And it will bring people back. Look how wise he was. And Allah will give him blessing. And the day will come when the symbols of Islam will rise up and it will be similar to the early days of Al-Mujahedeen and Al-Ansar (similar to the early years of Islam). And victory to those who follow Allah. Finally said, if it is the same, like the old days, such as Abu Bakr and Othman and Ali and others. In these days, in our times, that it will be the greatest jihad in the history of Islam and the resistance of the wicked people.

Shaykh: By Allah my Shaykh. We congratulate you for the great work. Thank Allah.

Tape ends here

Second segment of Bin Laden's visit, shows up at the front of the tape

UBL: Abdallah Azzam, Allah bless his soul, told me not to record anything (...inaudible...) so I thought that was a good omen, and Allah will bless us (...inaudible...). Abu-Al-Hasan Al-((Masri)), who appeared on Al-Jazeera TV a couple of days ago and addressed the Americans saying: "If you are true men, come down here and face us." (...inaudible...) He told me a year ago: "I saw in a dream, we were playing a soccer game against the Americans. When our team showed up in the field, they were all pilots!" He said: "So I wondered if that was a soccer game or a pilot game? Our players were pilots." He (Abu-Al-Hasan) didn't know anything about the operation until he heard it on the radio. He said the game went on and we defeated them. That was a good omen for us.

Shaykh: May Allah be blessed.

Unidentified Man Off Camera: Abd Al Rahman Al-(Ghamri) said he saw a vision, before the operation, a plane crashed into a tall building. He knew nothing about it.

Shaykh: May Allah be blessed!

Sulayman ((Abu Guaith)): I was sitting with the Shaykh in a room, then I left to go to another room where there was a TV set. The TV broadcasted the big event. The scene was showing an Egyptian family sitting in their living room, they exploded with joy. Do you know when there is a soccer game and your team wins, it was the same expression of joy. There was a subtitle that read: "In revenge for the children of Al Aqsa', Usama Bin Ladin executes an operation against America." So I went back to the Shaykh (meaning UBL) who was sitting in a room with 50 to 60 people. I tried to tell him about what I saw, but he made gesture with his hands, meaning: "I know, I know..."

UBL: He did not know about the operation. Not everybody knew(...inaudible...). Muhammad ((Atta)) from the Egyptian family(meaning the Al Qa'ida Egyptian group), was in charge of the group.

Shaykh: A plane crashing into a tall building was out of anyone's imagination. This was a great job. He was one of the pious men in the organization. He became a martyr. Allah bless his soul.

Shaykh (Referring to dreams and visions): The plane that he saw crashing into the building was seen before by more than one person. One of the good religious people has left everything and come here. He told me, "I saw a vision, I was in a huge plane, long and wide. I was carrying it on my shoulders and I walked from the road to the desert for half a kilometer. I was dragging the plane." I listened to him and I prayed to Allah to help him. Another person told me that last year he saw, but I didn't understand and I him I don't understand. He said, "I saw people who left for jihad...and they found themselves in New York...in Washington and New York." I said, "What is this?" He told me the plane hit the building. That was last year. We haven't thought much about it. But, when the incidents happened he came to me and said, "Did you see...this is strange." I have another man...my god...he said and swore by Allah that his wife had seen the incident a week earlier. She saw the plane crashing into a building...that was unbelievable, my god.

UBL: The brothers, who conducted the operation, all they knew was that they have a martyrdom operation and we asked each of them to go to America but they didn't know anything about the operation, not even one letter. But they were trained and we did not reveal the operation to them until they are there and just before they boarded the planes.

UBL: (...inaudible...) then he said: Those who were trained to fly didn't know the others. One group of people did not know the other group. (...inaudible...)

(Someone in the crowd asks UBL to tell the Shaykh about the dream of ((Abu-Da'ud)).

UBL: We were at a camp of one of the brother's guards in Qandahar. This brother belonged to the majority of the group. He came close and told me that he saw, in a dream, a tall building in America, and in the same dream he saw Mukhtar teaching them how to play karate. At that point, I was worried that maybe the secret would be revealed if everyone starts seeing it in their dream. So I closed the subject. I told him if he sees another dream, not to tell anybody, because people will be upset with him.

(Another person's voice can be heard recounting his dream about two planes hitting a big building).

UBL: They were overjoyed when the first plane hit the building, so I said to them: be patient.

UBL: The difference between the first and the second plane hitting the towers was twenty minutes. And the difference between the first plane and the plane that hit the Pentagon was one hour.

Shaykh: They (the Americans) were terrified thinking there was a coup. [Note: Ayman Al-Zawahri says first he commended UBL's awareness of what the media is saying. Then he says it was the first time for them (Americans) to feel danger coming at them.]

UBL (reciting a poem):
I witness that against the sharp blade
They always faced difficulties and stood together...
When the darkness comes upon us and we are bit by a
Sharp tooth, I say...

"Our homes are flooded with blood and the tyrant
Is freely wandering in our homes"...
And from the battlefield vanished
The brightness of swords and the horses...
And over weeping sounds now
We hear the beats of drums and rhythm...
They are storming his forts
And shouting: "We will not stop our raids
Until you free our lands"...

Bin Laden visit footage complete.
Everyone is weighing in on the horrific murders in Charleston and blaming the mindset of the mass murderer on wider social pathologies. After the airing of the racist crackpot ideas of the unhinged Dylann Roof, calls have gone out to ban the public flying of the battle flag of the Old Confederacy, which has also been incorporated in various forms in four state flags. Perhaps we should step back and eschew symbolism that separates us by race rather than unites us as fellow citizens.

Aside from the specious argument that the flag, along with media like Fox News and talk radio, fuels homicidal maniacs like Roof, there is quite another question: whether implicit state endorsement of Confederate symbolism offers sanction for the old idea of an apartheid nation, and thus sends entirely the wrong message of American separatism rather than unity. While many Southerners object that the flag simply proclaims the battlefield honor of those who were defending their homeland, the Confederacy was so entwined with the idea of preserving slavery that the flag, even today, can evoke racial polarization. For all the Southern patriots who understandably see in the Confederate battle flag the historical resonance of Pickett’s Charge or the resistance to Sherman’s March to the Sea, there are probably just as many who equally understandably consider it a nostalgic icon of white supremacy. In a racially diverse society, it makes sense to phase out state sanction for the battle flag — as South Carolina governor Nikki Haley advocated yesterday, in calling on the state legislature to vote for the removal of the battle flag that has been flying over the grounds of the state capitol.

But perhaps we should not stop there, given increasing ethnic tensions and widening racial fault lines. There are plenty of other overt racialist symbols that separate Americans. One is the prominent use of La Raza, “The Race” — seen most prominently in the National Council of La Raza, an ethnic lobbying organization that has been and is currently a recipient of federal funds. The National Council of La Raza should be free to use any title it wishes, but it should not expect the federal government to subsidize its separatist nomenclature.

The pedigree of the term La Raza is just as incendiary as that of the Confederate battle flag. The Spanish noun raza(cf. Latin radix: “root” or “race”) is akin to the now-discarded German use of Volk, which in the early 20th century came to denote a common German racial identity that transcended linguistic and cultural affinities: To be a real member of the Volk one had to “appear” German, in addition to speaking German and possessing German citizenship.

La Raza is just such a racialist term. It goes beyond a common language and country of origin, and thus transcends the more neutral puebla(“people”: Latin populus) or gente (“people”: Latin gens). Raza was deliberately reintroduced in the 1960s to promote a racially superior identity of indigenous peoples and mestizos born in the Spanish-speaking countries of the New World. That is why the National Council of La Raza once had a close affinity with MEChA (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán), the infamous racialist U.S. student group (its ironic motto is “Unity creates strength”), some of whose various past slogans (cf. the Castroite derivative “Por La Raza todo, Fuera de La Raza nada”) finally became sources of national embarrassment.

La Raza is now a calcified separatist slogan, one full of implications that are unworthy of taxpayer support.

The use of the phrase La Raza reflects its illiberal modern origins. It came into popular currency during the 1930s in Spain, when the Fascist dictatorship of Francisco Franco wished to promote a new Iberian identity that went well beyond the commonality of Spanish citizenship and fluency in the Spanish language. Franco expropriated La Razato promote the racist idea that the Spanish were a superior people by birth. He penned a crackpot novel, Raza, embodying Fascist and racist themes of Spanish genetic and cultural superiority. La Raza appeared on the big screen in the form of a hokey 1942 Spanish-language movie, full of racist themes, anti-Americanism, and fashionable Fascist politics.

But Franco was only channeling another, more famous contemporary Fascist, Benito Mussolini, who had his own Italian version of the term, la Razza. In 1938 Mussolini published his Manifesto della Razza (“The Racial Manifesto”), which defined Italians as a superior Aryan race and excluded Italian Jews, Africans, and other supposedly less pure groups from various positions in the Italian government.

In sum, the word “Raza” has a disturbing recent history, and that is why Spaniards and Italians today have dropped its common usage. Yet that well-known association with racial chauvinism was precisely why the founders of the National Council of La Raza, by their own admission, reawakened the word in the 1960s to focus on what they saw as a particular racial category of Spanish speakers. But La Raza is now a calcified separatist slogan, one full of implications that are unworthy of taxpayer support.

One wonders why in 2015 there is still nomenclature such as “the Congressional Black Caucus,” over half a century after the civil-rights movement sought to promote integration and the idea that Americans should be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin.. The Caucus ostensibly seeks to ensure the end of exclusion by race from full participation in American society by creating a lobbying group focused entirely on one particular race. The postmodern rationale is either that groups that have suffered past disfranchisement and discrimination should not be subject to current anti-discriminatory protocols, or that they should at least enjoy a compensatory period of exclusion from color-blind values to offset centuries of oppression.

The premise seems to be that African-American House members seek to promote a common “black” agenda that transcends their local, county, or state interests.

Thus the group’s membership is entirely race-based. The Caucus is not open to those members of the House of Representatives who are not African-American, but who might share the Caucus’s racial or political agenda — as the Jewish-American Representative Steven Cohen learned when he was elected to Congress in 2006. The Lebanese-American Ralph Nader was once attacked at a Caucus meeting in clearly racial terms on the understanding that the group was exempt from charges of racism. How far is the racial concept transferable — “the Asian Caucus”? “the Latino Caucus?” “the White Caucus?” “the European-American Caucus”? The premise seems to be that African-American House members seek to promote a common “black” agenda that transcends their local, county, or state interests. If an Asian, white, or Latino voter’s congressional representative is a member of the “Black Caucus,” does that mean that the voter will receive less attention than a black voter — as de facto white caucuses in the Old South most certainly did ignore the interests of their non-white constituents? Is that why conservative African-American legislators who see all their constituents in terms that transcend race tend to avoid joining the Caucus? Could not the “Black Caucus” rebrand itself as the “Civil Rights Caucus” or the “Progressive Caucus”?

Reexamination of the battle flag offers us a teachable moment. Critics made a good point that any state sanction of the secessionist flag inevitably sends the wrong message to millions of Americans, who in their private lives are free to display any symbol they wish. But the current racialist reaction to past racism has become equally indefensible in an increasingly fragile multiracial state. The state should not support any racially separatist symbols, titles, or groups.

We should pause to appreciate that the American democratic experiment in ethnic and racial diversity is nearly unique. Indeed, the very idea of racial diversity and nationhood does not have much of a record of success in history. Few countries have been able to transcend their ethnic origins and sustain a racially pluralistic society. Rome was an exception and pulled it off for nearly 500 years, as the Roman Empire grew to encompass non-Italian peoples from the Euphrates to Scotland before unwinding into tribal chaos. The Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian Empires worked for long periods, though they relied on the use of autocratic force and imperial coercion to suppress minorities, in ways antithetical to modern notions of governance.

In more recent times, religious and racial diversity — in Rwanda, the former Yugoslavia, Iraq, or contemporary Nigeria — has resulted in chaos and, occasionally, genocide. True, some nations have been able to incorporate different tribes, as in the United Kingdom’s unification of the various peoples of the British Isles, but usually after hundreds of years of fighting and only when there were underlying racial and cultural affinities that could trump tribal differences.

In other words, the United States is history’s exception, not its rule. America is a great, evolving experiment of a constitutional republic in which peoples of all different races, religions, and ethnic backgrounds are equal under the law and see themselves as Americans first and members of tribes second — appearance and religion being incidental rather than essential to the American body politic.

In an America that was originally founded by mostly Northern European immigrants, a Juan Lopez from Oaxaca is freely accepted as a U.S. citizen in a way that a white Bob Jones would never fully be embraced as a citizen of Mexico, a country whose constitution still expressly sets out racially chauvinistic guidelines that govern immigration law. Someone who appears African or European would have a hard time fully integrating as a citizen in Chinese, Korean, or Japanese society, in a way not true of Chinese, Koreans, and Japanese in America. The world assumes that in America a president, attorney general, secretary of state, or Supreme Court justice can be black; but it would be as surprised to find whites as high public officials in Zimbabwe as to find a black as prime minister or foreign minister in Sweden or Germany.

In the last half-century, Americans have increasingly tended to emphasize race and tribe in promoting “diversity,” rather than seeking to strengthen the more tenuous notion of unity with their fellow citizens. We have forgotten that human nature is fond of division and must work at setting aside superficial tribal affinities to unite on the basis of core values and ideas.

Symbols, flags, organizations, and phrases that emphasize racial difference and ethnic pride are no longer just fossilized notions from the 1960s; they are growing fissures in the American mosaic that now threaten to split the country apart — fueling the suspicion of less liberal and more homogeneous nations that the great American experiment will finally unwind as expected.

That would be a great tragedy, but a catastrophe entirely predictable if citizens seek symbolic solidarity with their tribe rather than in the common idea of just being American.

This is a very tedious video, which could easily be compressed into 5 minutes, if you remove the repetitions and flannel. However, there are some interesting tid bits. One comment stood out for me:

"We were determined to rebuild the Pentagon by Sept 11, 2002, to show the terrorists how America responds to this kind of threat."

Bin laden must have pissed himself at this perfect example of the non-martial thinking of secular democracy. So someone attacks the very heart of your country and people, is posing an existential threat to your existence, and the way you show him how angry you are is to demonstrate your efficient building skills? When he saw those Americans working 20 hour days and sleeping on the site, staying calm and relaxed and refusing to judge the 'religion of peace', he must have been scared stiff (not)!

Of course, bin Laden would have referred to guidance from Mohammed. The prophet said that there will be some people who don't want to fight, but would rather stay at home and do constructive things like farming, making tools, building homes and so on. But that activity is the inclination of the timid coward. The true Muslim is more inclined to go out and fight and kill the kaffir, and that is the true Jihad, the only sure way of getting to heaven. The wimp that just wants to stay at home and create things in peace instead of destroying things in war, will never be a true Muslim, and may even feel the wrath of Mohammed descend upon him, if he's not careful!

The attack on the Pentagon was far more of a national security risk than I imagined. If the fire had reached the roof, it would have knocked out the global communications equipment for the entire pentagon, thus rendering US forces worldwide blind, and unable to seek orders. That blackout could also have been achieved by knocking out (or overloading) the generators, or the cooling system, or perhaps even the water supplies. Imagine if China took that opportunity to take some of the disputed islands, or even Taiwan, and the US is without clear command and control for 24 hours or more?

I think bin Laden made a mistake. If he'd directed 3 jets at the pentagon, he could have wiped it out completely. With just 2 jets, he could have disabled the entire communications system. He could have knocked out the US military! That surely, is a far more symbolic event than the twin towers. It may even have been enough to wake the kaffir cattle from their grass grazing, and make them acknowledge an ideological threat, not just a physical one. But maybe my natural optimism is getting the better of me :-)
The Changing Landscape of the Anti-Fascist Movement - Trentovision with Pamela Gellertag:4freedoms.com,2013-10-28:3766518:Topic:1409222013-10-28T02:20:03.842ZAlan Lakehttp://4freedoms.com/profile/AlanLake

We've had several discussions about how the landscape is changing.

1.
We've had several discussions about how the landscape is changing.

1. Pro-active Methods
In the UK, the resignation of Tommy Robinson may in the end be a turning point in which the disenfranchised, like the Northern Irish Catholics that the Left love so much, turn into the IRA, and the enfranchised turn to more conventional political activism - lobbying and press meetings etc - after having been sanitised by the split.

This changing model is shown in Wild Bill's talk. He says that the time for writing letters to the papers - which he compares to complaining over the garden fence to your neighbour in olden times - is over. Instead he has formed an organisation of ex-military and special forces to go fight and resist intimidation by the Fascist Left.

The changing model can also be discerned in Pamela's talk. Note how many lawsuits she refers to. They have given up on any attempt to get justice by means of the media informing public opinion, and subsequently political pressure having its effect. They have realised that it only works if you take your opponents to court. Nobody else in this society, and certainly not the state, is going to ensure that you receive equitable treatment, so you have to enforce it yourself, through the courts.

2. Attitude
But a second part of the transformation is to do with anger and politeness. For many years now we have followed our middle class upbringing, engaging in polite and respectful debate with those that hate us and say we are inferior cattle to be subdued. We have also tried to engage using reason and the truth with the apologists for Islam, who turn out to be in many cases, the Fascist Left. Neither of these approaches has worked. The approach to Muslims doesn't work because, if they are the master race, and we are 'the lowest of creatures', then its hardly even a question of them lying to us (Taqiya), for why should you even consider it to be a lie, if you are speaking to someone so inferior and despised? And the approach to the Fascist Left doesn't work because they don't care a dot for reason or the truth, not a bit. For them, the ends justify any means, so if they can destroy or silence you by any means, they will, then go home to read bedtime stories to their children, and be proud of it, just like the Nazis.

History changes slowly, through undercurrents. When the undercurrent finally surfaces, the change is obvious, but before that, there were only hints of the changes taking place under the surface. This changing attitude is shown, to a lesser extent, in Wild Bill's talk. He says that the time for writing letters to the papers - which he compares to complaining over the garden fence to your neighbour in olden days - is over. Instead he has formed an organisation of ex-military and special forces to go fight and resist the intimidation and propaganda of the Fascist Left.

But its the speech from Pamela Geller which perfectly exemplifies the transformation in emotion and approach that I describe in (2) above. She is on fire! (as Americans say). Pamela's section starts at 25min50sec. Now I know Pamela has many critics. She makes mistakes but refuses to admit them. She rushes to judgement before all the issues are clear. And her website could be called chaotic. But please put all that aside for a moment and consider this oratory. I think its a masterpiece. She has all the arguments spot on. She points out logical fallacies, and is also fluent in masses of relevant facts, in the political, legal, commercial and international spheres.

But she brings more than that. She brings anger, and with it a change of attitude, which includes not just disrespect, but cold contempt for the media. The gloves are off, and she is advising others it is time to take their gloves off as well. There's nothing to lose, because we never got any concessions or kindness or even parity for keeping the gloves on anyway. And where has this change in attitude come from? Going by some of the body language and words, she's had a lot of death threats, and is absolutely sick of it (notice I say sick of it, not scared of it). She is sick of the hypocrisy and one-sidedness, and the cowardice of the media that support it. Remember, she is a married woman with children. What mother would not be angry, to find that hatred and death threats are levelled against her children, when all she is trying to do is, peacefully and by reasoned argument, protect their future?

She is here showing the way forward, with this change of style, which hopefully many others will copy. I think we will see a lot more court cases; a lot more strident protests against Islamist lies; a lot more hostile receptions given to the Fascist Left; and a lot more angry Pamelas, snapping at the duplicity and cowardice of those in the media.

Inspiring: Glenn talks to the 19-year-old Dairy Queen employee who stood up for a blind customer

Thursday, Sep 19, 2013 at 8:24 PM +0100

There is an inspiring story out of Minnesota today involving a 19-year-old Dairy Queen manager who proved there is goodness in this world.

TheBlaze reports:

A Minnesota Dairy Queen has been swarmed with dozens of phone calls, hundreds of comments and an influx of business after a story about their 19-year-old manager’s courageous defense of a blind man went viral on Reddit.
Joey Prusak, who has been working at the popular fast-food restaurant for nearly five years, told TheBlaze Wednesday he was “shocked” and “sickened” by what he saw happen to a blind man at the hands of an elderly lady.

Prusak said that last Tuesday, one of his frequent guests, a man who is blind, walked into the local Dairy Queen. When the blind man took out his wallet to pay, a $20 bill slipped out of his pocket. An elderly woman behind the blind man then quickly snatched the bill off the floor and put it into her purse.

Prusak took matters into his own hands.

After confronting the woman, asking her to return the stolen money to the man, and having her refuse, Joey asked the woman to leave the establishment.

“But now here comes the part of the story that’s quite amazing,” Glenn said on radio this morning. “The 19-year-old manager, according to one of the customers who was just sitting there watching all of this, did something that no one expected. This came from a letter from one of the customers who was standing in line: ‘To Dairy Queen. What your employee did I never expected. Your employee approached the blind man, and took out his wallet. And said, sir, on behalf of Dairy Queen, I’d like to give you the 20 dollars, that you happened to drop on the ground as you walked away from the counter. I was in shock by the generosity that your employee had. Taking his own money out of his own wallet to give the customer because some other lady decided to steal something that wasn’t hers.’ Joey said, ‘I felt it wasn’t right that he got ripped off by somebody like that lady. It wasn’t the right situation you know? I instantly got sick. And I felt sick to my stomach.’ This Dairy Queen is in a small town in Minnesota.”

“People are starving for people just to be good,” Glenn continued. “Dozens of people now have gone to the Dairy Queen, in fact, the Dairy Queen in this location, has doubled its business in the last week.”

After sharing the story and going to a commercial break, Glenn came back on air and said Joey was on the line, ready to share his experience.

“I’m just so glad to talk to you and we were just talking about you here just a few minutes ago about how you are remarkable on,” Glenn said to Joey. “And it’s sad that you’re remarkable. But true.”

“I agree with you on that,” Joey responded. “I didn’t expect any of this to come from something that was so little in reality.”

Joey went on to explain how exactly the incident transpired, and Glenn, so impressed with the way Joey handled the situation, made a bold prediction.

“Well, I will tell you, you know, in time, you could be running all of Dairy Queen or whatever else it is that you would want to do,” Glenn said. “Right now, one of our problems in our country… is the lack of honesty. What do you want to? What is your plan for life?”

“I want to own my own business, of some kind. I’ve always been interested in the business aspect of the Dairy Queen that I work at,” Joey explained. “And the owner really worked with me on teaching me the things of the business. He’s owned the store over 20 years. So he kind of knows what he’s doing. And I just thought, ‘I’d like to eventually own my own Dairy Queen or just a business of some kind.’”

“I’m really impressed with you, Joey, and I would, I’d like to stay in touch with you. And find out what you’re dreams are and see if there’s anyway that we can help you with that because I think you are a remarkable young man,” Glenn said. “Do me a favor, don’t go to college.”

“Good advice, Glenn,” Pat said sarcastically.

Glenn clarified that he simply wants Joey to consider, given his business experience, the benefits of a self-education.

“No, no, no, get a self-education. Do exactly what you’re doing now,” Glenn said. “You get a self education and you read everything you can, and you study everything you can, and you surround yourself with really smart people, and you go to work for smart people. But don’t rack up a lot of debt and listen to a bunch of pinheads trying to tell you exactly how life works because they haven’t been in real life for a long time.”

“I can do that,” Joey said. “Thank you very much.”
