I only managed a brief look at your squarespace website but it looks great!  I look forward to your contributions here.

    Hi Camille,

    welcome to 4F :-)

There are a lot of interesting and well formed views on your blog.  I didn't know about the Government funding of charities for example, indeed that:

In the last fifteen years, state funding of charities in Britain has increased significantly while restrictions on political lobbying by charities have been relaxed. 27,000 charities are now dependent on the government for more than 75 per cent of their income and the ‘voluntary sector’ receives more money from the state than it receives in voluntary donations

That would almost merit an additional restriction added to the 4 Freedoms to make pork barrel politics illegal, i.e.: that the Government cannot use government money and powers to privately promote and apply its own policies.

In regard to your April 1st article: "It is not the place of corporate business to intefere in democracy", I think there is another key argument from symmetry/equity to be made.  In that article you point out that Paypal shut down the account of Britain First, and that the Post Office unlawfully delayed the delivery of their election leaflets.

This is discrimination against a legal customer.  If that customer was Gay and desired a cake to be made, or sought lodging in someone's home being used as a bread and breakfast, you can be sure the state prosecutor would have been after them like a hound after a fox, for discriminating between its customers on inapplicable grounds.

I'm not arguing against the Gay issue here.  I'm using the same argument Geert Wilders uses for the Quran v. Mein Kampf in Holland: if you are going to ban Mein Kampf, then surely to be CONSISTENT you must also ban the Quran.  He actually doesn't mind what you ban, he just wants consistency in banning.

In the same way, there is no justification in denying fair treatment to customers from Britain First because of a political issue, in the same way that Gay people cannot be denied fair treatment because of a political issue.  Unless the lefturds are going to say that being Gay is not a political issue?  The mind boggles with these fascist slime.

Anyway, I hope you find this site useful when you need to gather evidence on any issue.  AFAIK, we are the only place trying to make some kind of categorical store of news and concepts, so that related content can be retrieved by intelligent human drill down (as opposed to by dumb machine searching on keyword tags).

    Alan
