Given the basic noble intent of communist principles they have shown a surprising willingness to murder any that oppose them. Communists, Christians, Muslims and Nazis all share a fanatical hatred for any opposition while finding no fault in themselves.
There is no freedom in any of these systems of belief. Truly democratic well-armed secular mono-ethnic nations with rule-of-law are the closest you can get to freedom from oppression and security for the individual.

The Chinese are naturally going to put the interests of the Chinese before everything else, good for them.

(Not about the 4 Freedoms, but very interesting, and of world-wide relevance)

Well, the treaty (that China calls just a 'historic document') specifies that China leaves Hong Kong to its own affairs for 50 years, I think.  So they are showing an unseemly lack of patience :-)

It was obvious from the day Hong Kong was handed over that China would gradually take over everything there, what else did they expect? Is was handed over because China was sure to invade otherwise.
Hong Kong and China are not foreign to each other they are all Chinese.
There is no way you can compare South Africa to Hong Kong, it is a completely different situation.
China is a totalitarian communist state but-
It's the economy stupid! Everything changes, China will change, better or worse? However Communism is founded in poverty, in unbridled capitalism exploiting the workers. If the Chinese people become affluent they will, as we in the West have done, no longer see the point in communism. That fight is won, socialism did its bit and bridled capitalism. The danger is always there (extreme communism or extreme capitalism) but as long as we can maintain a reasonably democratic society with responsible government we will be OK. Responsible government that puts the best interests of its citizens first and that can be replaced in democratic elections. China could well become more democratic?
The problem with almost every country is the lack of responsible government.

China Nominates Itself for Leading Role in Counterterrorism After Sri Lanka.
Actually I wish that China would go to war on Islam.

Mosques in China must raise the national flag to 'promote a spirit of patriotism' after claims Muslims are forced to eat pork at a 'brainwashing' camp emerged

  • Flags should be hung in a 'prominent position' in all mosque courtyards
  • New rule was published by the China Islamic Association on Saturday
  • It's set to further strengthen the understanding of national and civic ideals
  • Came after former detainees of China's Muslim 're-education' camps spoke up

PUBLISHED: 12:26, 21 May 2018 | UPDATED: 00:46, 22 May 2018

All Chinese mosques should raise the national flag to 'promote a spirit of patriotism' among Muslims, the country's top Islamic regulatory body has declared.

Flags should be hung in a 'prominent position' in all mosque courtyards, the China Islamic Association said in a letter published Saturday on its website.

This would 'further strengthen the understanding of national and civic ideals, and promote a spirit of patriotism among Muslims of all ethnic groups', it read.

Mosques in China are now being urged to fly the national flag as a way to promote patriotism. Pictured, Muslims gather for Friday prayers inside a mosque in Shanghai, China

The China Islamic Association, a government-affiliated body, said the national flag of China (pictured at Tian'anmen Square in Beijing) should be hung in a 'prominent position' in mosques

This news comes as China's Communist Party seeks to tighten its grip on religion.

Last week, former detainees of China's Muslim 're-education' camps claimed they had been forced to eat pork and drink alcohol, forbidden in Islam, as punishment.

According to the statement on Saturday, mosques in China should also publicly display information on the party's 'core socialist values', and explain them to devotees via Islamic scripture so that they will be 'deeply rooted in people's hearts'.

The China Islamic Association is a government-affiliated body and has the sole power to accredit imams.

The letter comes on the heels of China's newly revised Regulations on Religious Affairs, which came into effect in February and prompted rights groups to voice concern for religious freedoms.

Muslim Terrorism Count

Thousands of Deadly Islamic Terror Attacks Since 9/11

Mission Overview

Most Western societies are based on Secular Democracy, which itself is based on the concept that the open marketplace of ideas leads to the optimum government. Whilst that model has been very successful, it has defects. The 4 Freedoms address 4 of the principal vulnerabilities, and gives corrections to them.

At the moment, one of the main actors exploiting these defects, is Islam, so this site pays particular attention to that threat.

Islam, operating at the micro and macro levels, is unstoppable by individuals, hence: "It takes a nation to protect the nation". There is not enough time to fight all its attacks, nor to read them nor even to record them. So the members of 4F try to curate a representative subset of these events.

We need to capture this information before it is removed.  The site already contains sufficient information to cover most issues, but our members add further updates when possible.

We hope that free nations will wake up to stop the threat, and force the separation of (Islamic) Church and State. This will also allow moderate Muslims to escape from their totalitarian political system.

The 4 Freedoms

These 4 freedoms are designed to close 4 vulnerabilities in Secular Democracy, by making them SP or Self-Protecting (see Hobbes's first law of nature). But Democracy also requires - in addition to the standard divisions of Executive, Legislature & Judiciary - a fourth body, Protector of the Open Society (POS), to monitor all its vulnerabilities (see also Popper).
1. SP Freedom of Speech
Any speech is allowed - except that advocating the end of these freedoms
2. SP Freedom of Election
Any party is allowed - except one advocating the end of these freedoms
3. SP Freedom from Voter Importation
Immigration is allowed - except where that changes the political demography (this is electoral fraud)
4. SP Freedom from Debt
The Central Bank is allowed to create debt - except where that debt burden can pass across a generation (25 years).

An additional Freedom from Religion is deducible if the law is applied equally to everyone:

  • Religious and cultural activities are exempt from legal oversight except where they intrude into the public sphere (Res Publica)"
