Malmös rykte skrämmer Hollywood

Text: Mattias Oscarsson
Publicerad 12 juli 2011 1.30 Uppdaterad 12 juli 2011 6.39

Malmö.
Hollywoodbolaget ville spela in en storfilm i Skåne, baserad på en bästsäljare. Men bolaget fick kalla fötter.

Jews warned about visiting southern Sweden

US-based Jewish group has issued a travel warning urging Jews to exercise "extreme caution" when traveling in southern Sweden.

“We reluctantly are issuing this advisory because religious Jews and other members of the Jewish community there have been subject to anti-Semitic taunts and harassment,” said Dr. Shimon Samuels, Director of International Relations with the Los Angeles-based Simon Wiesenthal Centre, in a statement.

“There have been dozens of incidents reported to the authorities but have not resulted in arrests or convictions for hate crimes.”

Samuels, along with Wiesenthal associate dean Rabbi Abraham Cooper, conveyed their concerns for the safety of the Jewish community to Swedish Minister of Justice Beatrice Ask during meetings in Stockholm on Thursday.

The statement emphasised that the travel warning had nothing to do with Saturday’s suicide bombing in Stockholm.

In issuing the warning, the Wiesenthal Centre cited "the outrageous remarks of Malmö mayor Ilmar Reepalu, who blames the Jewish community for failing to denounce Israel."

Reepalu, Malmö's long-time Social Democratic mayor, has come in for criticism over his comments regarding Jews on a number of occasions in the last year.

Speaking to the The Sunday Telegraph in February, Reepalu seemed to deny that Jews in Malmö were suffering from harassment despite police reports showing a doubling in the number of crimes against the town's Jewish residents between 2008 and 2009.

"There haven't been any attacks on Jewish people and if Jews from the city want to move to Israel, that is not a matter for Malmö," he told the newspaper.

Reepalu has also been criticised by Malmö-based Jews for allowing anti-Semitism to fester.

"He's demonstrated extreme ignorance when it comes to our problems," Fredrik Sieradzki of the Jewish Community of Malmö (Judiska Församlingen i Malmö) told The Local in January.

"More often, it's the far-left that commonly use Jews as a punching bag for their disdain toward the policies of Israel, even if Jews in Malmö have nothing to do with Israeli politics. It's shameful and regrettable that such a powerful politician could be so ignorant about the threats we face," he added.

According to the travel warning, Jews should exercise "extreme caution when visiting southern Sweden."

The discussions with Ask, Cooper and Samuels invited Swedish officials to participate in a law enforcement training programme offered by the Wiesenthal Centre and urged Sweden to "strengthen the security of all Jewish institutions."

"It is unacceptable in a democracy committed to protecting its citizens, that the Swedish Jewish community is forced to pay for necessary upgraded security measures to safeguard their lives and property," said Samuels.

The Wiesenthal Centre has previously issued travel warnings for Turkey, Dubai, France, and Belgium.

Calls by The Local to Reepalu asking for comment were not returned.

Stockholm (AINA) -- A minor scandal has unfolded in Sweden as Assyrian and Armenian groups revealed the Swedish government censored the minister of integration after he mentioned the Seyfo genocide in a speech. Seyfo (sword) is the Assyrian name of the Turkish genocide of Assyrians in World War One. The genocide claimed 750,000 Assyrian lives (75%) as well as 500,000 Greeks and 1.5 million Armenians.

The issue flared when Swedish minister for integration, Erik Ullenhag, gave a speech in the main synagogue in Stockholm on January 27, the official Holocaust remembrance day. In his speech Mr Ullenhag said:

"Adolf Hitler is said to have uttered the words 'Who remembers the Armenians?' He was referring to the genocide carried out during the First World War killing approximately one million Armenians and half a million Assyrians in today's Turkey."

The entire speech was then posted on the official Swedish government webpage and subsequently censored. The entire quotation above was removed from the speech. Armenian and Assyrian groups soon discovered an article on the homepage of the Turkish federation of Sweden in which the Turks proudly proclaimed the passage about Seyfo was removed after the Turkish embassy in Stockholm pressured the Swedish government.

Norway is following Swedens Antisemitic lead. The Norwegian governments pension fund just sold its stock in Israels Elbit defense contractor due to Elbits provision of electronic monitors for the separation fence.

This latest move seems to be part of a general trend towards anti-Semitism in Scandinavia in the aftermath of the publication of the anti-Semitic blood libel in Swedens Aftonblodet mass circulation tabloid last month. Latma studios host once again the Swedish Foreign Minister Jorgen Jorgensen.

Extreme Islamist homepage in Sweden disturbs Russia
Stockholm News 14 September 2009

http://europenews.dk/en/node/26241

A prosecutor in Russia has asked Swedish authorities for information about an extreme islamist homepage in Sweden. The reason is that a threat towards a Russian civil servant has been published on the homepage. This is reported in the Swedish Public Radio broadcaster SR in the programme ´Medierna´.

The homepage is called Kavkaz Center (http://kavkazcenter.net/eng/) and has substance with encouragement to Jihad and extreme violence. It describes itself as an independent Chechen news source and it is formally based in Sweden. The homepage shows for example videos of successful bombings and assasination combined with suggestive religious music. According to Medierna, there is also an explicit threat towards a Russian civil servant written by an anonymous person on the homepage.

What is special with this homepage is that in the middle of all this, there is a text claiming that the site is protected by the Swedish constitution of press freedom. This is the reason for Russian authorities to ask Sweden for help.

The Russian presecutor wanted to know who made the anonymous threat. The question was forwarded to Swedish Attorney-General, Göran Lambertz., who said no to the Russian demand.

The reason was, according to Lambertz, that the homepage has been granted authorization to publish which means that they have a strong protection in the Swedish constitution. This means that it is forbidden to give out the names of anonyme writers in the specific media source. The condition is that the news source must have a specific person that is entitled ´legally responsible publisher´.

But Medierna did some research about Kavkaz Center and it turned out that they might not have a legally responsible publisher. The person who was registered as ...

Muslim Terrorism Count

Thousands of Deadly Islamic Terror Attacks Since 9/11

Mission Overview

Most Western societies are based on Secular Democracy, which itself is based on the concept that the open marketplace of ideas leads to the optimum government. Whilst that model has been very successful, it has defects. The 4 Freedoms address 4 of the principal vulnerabilities, and gives corrections to them.

At the moment, one of the main actors exploiting these defects, is Islam, so this site pays particular attention to that threat.

Islam, operating at the micro and macro levels, is unstoppable by individuals, hence: "It takes a nation to protect the nation". There is not enough time to fight all its attacks, nor to read them nor even to record them. So the members of 4F try to curate a representative subset of these events.

We need to capture this information before it is removed.  The site already contains sufficient information to cover most issues, but our members add further updates when possible.

We hope that free nations will wake up to stop the threat, and force the separation of (Islamic) Church and State. This will also allow moderate Muslims to escape from their totalitarian political system.

The 4 Freedoms

These 4 freedoms are designed to close 4 vulnerabilities in Secular Democracy, by making them SP or Self-Protecting (see Hobbes's first law of nature). But Democracy also requires - in addition to the standard divisions of Executive, Legislature & Judiciary - a fourth body, Protector of the Open Society (POS), to monitor all its vulnerabilities (see also Popper).
1. SP Freedom of Speech
Any speech is allowed - except that advocating the end of these freedoms
2. SP Freedom of Election
Any party is allowed - except one advocating the end of these freedoms
3. SP Freedom from Voter Importation
Immigration is allowed - except where that changes the political demography (this is electoral fraud)
4. SP Freedom from Debt
The Central Bank is allowed to create debt - except where that debt burden can pass across a generation (25 years).

An additional Freedom from Religion is deducible if the law is applied equally to everyone:

  • Religious and cultural activities are exempt from legal oversight except where they intrude into the public sphere (Res Publica)"
