Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service: Recruiting to reflect the local community

The residents in the county are from diverse religious backgrounds and HFRS regularly attends religious gatherings from a range of faith groups, using the opportunity to promote employment opportunities with the service, as well as provide fire safety advice. HFRS has attended careers days at some mosques across the county and is aiming to improve its engagement with faith communities by providing awareness-raising courses for staff, including Islamic awareness.

Community leader calls for end to firefighter attacks

·                                 By Charlotte Bradshaw »

A MOSQUES leader has vowed to haul yobs before the police after East Lancs firefighters were attacked for the fourth time in five days.

The youngsters behind one of the attacks have been identified by fire officers.

But Salim Mulla, senior chairman of Lancashire Council of Mosques, said community leaders were determined to find the culprits of all four attacks.

Meanwhile MPs and community leaders today urged thugs to stop the madness.

The incidents over the past week have involved:

·                                 Fire crews having stones and pieces of wood thrown at them during attacks on Friday and Sunday evenings in Daneshouse, Burnley.

·                                 A fireman needing hospital treatment after he was hit in the face with a brick, which was thrown through a fire-engine window in Audley Range, Blackburn, on Monday night.

·                                 Yobs deliberately starting a rubbish fire to lure firefighters before pelting the engine with stones in Home Street, Stoneyholme, Burnley, at 9.30pm on Tuesday.

Fire chiefs insisted that offences of this nature are "isolated" and believe the incidents could be copycat attacks.

According to Home Office statistics there have been just nine attacks on crews in Lancashire over the past two years and 24 incidents relating to verbal abuse.

But Salim Mulla said that he was determined to 'name and shame' the culprits.

Mr Mulla said: "We have had information to suggest it was a gang of Asian youths who attacked the fire-engine in Blackburn.

"The congregation is extremely angry that an incident such as this could have taken place. We want to get to the bottom of it.

"The congregation wants to name and shame the culprits and drag them to the police station.

"I addressed a congregation of more than 2,500 people condemning the attacks.

"I explained attacks of this nature will not be tolerated and said those responsible are not welcome in the mosque. Somebody could have been killed.

"It's sickening."

Burnley MP Kitty Ussher supported community leaders in their efforts to find the yobs.

She said: "There is no justification whatsoever in using violence against our hard-working, dedicated emergency services who put their lives at risk on a daily basis.

"I support the actions that community leaders are taking to try and stamp out what appears to be a new wave of violence.

"I have heard of things like this happening before but never in clusters like this."

Steve Harman, Fire Brigade Union secretary, said: "These attacks are inexcusable and must not be tolerated.

"It can never be part of anyone's job to get a brick or bottle in the head or to be spat at."

Police are warning youngsters who attack firefighters that they will be prosecuted.

A meeting was being held at Daneshouse and Stoneyholme Community Centre last night with police and fire crews to discuss the problem.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service outreach develop-ment officer Naveed Sharif has been working alongside Faz Patel in engaging with youngsters in the area.

Naveed said they had found the culprits behind one of the attacks and the youngsters had apologised.

"They didn't realise the consequences of their actions," he said.

Faz added: "It's about having respect. We are working hard to educate the youngsters and engaging with them on their level.

"Communities are well connected to each other which makes it easy for us to work in different communities and everybody be behind what we are doing."

A police spokesman added: "We are liaising with the fire brigade as to how best to deal with the issue.

"This behaviour will not be tolerated."

We are told several times how such ‘behaviour will not be tolerated.’  Will Naveed and Faz now turn these yobs over to the local police authorities?

"I explained attacks of this nature will not be tolerated and said those responsible are not welcome in the mosque. Somebody could have been killed.”……..So what sorts of attacks will be tolerated ? Blowing up Busses ? Tub Trains ? Air Craft ?

MP Kitty Ussher said: "There is no justification whatsoever in using violence against our hard-working, dedicated emergency services who put their lives at risk on a daily basis“…..But is there justification to use violence against others who are not emergency services.

"I support the actions that community leaders are taking to try and stamp out what appears to be a new wave of violence“……But there not trying to stamp out Islamic violence completely.

Its not what they are saying I am worried about, Its what there not saying that is the problem.

Be Bold, Be Proud, Be British.

No Surrender.
They said these were copycat incidents. If you want to know who they're copying, just look at Sweden, where fire crews must be escorted by police, everywhere they go for fear of Muslim gangs who stone and attack them daily. Or look at France, where such incidents have forced the government to declare certain areas no-go-zones, even to the emergency services.

If you believe the video that shows the level of Muslim violence to be directly proportional to the percentage of Muslim population, then it does ring true that we should be starting to see more and more incidents like this now in the UK as we approach 10% Muslim.

If we ever reach 20% then you'll see churches being burned out and full scale street riots.... etc., etc., until it's a Muslim country.

What the hell is it with attacking the fire services anyway?

More from the Swedish perspective here:
PP, that link doesn't work, please try again.

I was trying to get your link to work and it lead me to this one..... look familiar? The original Londonstan? The sign of things to come?

"They didn't realise the consequences of their actions," he said.

OK, so which part of throwing a brick into someone's face did you not understand the consequences of?

Clearly we need a bit of good old Islamic justice here, where the state throws a brick into the hooligan's face to help the poor confused youngster understand this complex and baffling event.
sorry, how about now?

There's a part of me that has little sympathy for those firemen and policemen. Soft faces, soft voice, soft words, soft attitudes - always looking for the excuse why 'they feel excluded' or 'its their parents fault' but its never the fault of the person who launches the brick is it? The whole structure is so weak its hard to see how it can survive against a tough enemy.
Obviously, Alan you need to attend a course on 'Islamic awareness' like members of the HFRS.

'HFRS has attended careers days at some mosques across the county and is aiming to improve its engagement with faith communities by providing awareness-raising courses for staff, including Islamic awareness.'

Then you will understand.

You see, what should really happen is this:

1. Prepare temporary prison camps.

2. Full brigades of riot squad (armed police and army) should be sent into these areas to round every single immigrant into the back of a truck and have them escorted to these camps.

3. Every single immigrant should be deported unless they can prove that they're contributing in some way to their new society (working).

I don't know why Sweden takes that sh*t off those filthy immigrant dogs. How fuc*ing dare they throw missiles at cars and emergency service personnel. They need taught a lesson.

What's going to happen to Sweden then? Some areas are 40% Muslim and things are really hotting up now. Are the Swedes just going to let it continue and allow their country to be taken from them, or are they going to start deporting these scum bags? Those are the only two choices.

What worries me is that Britain is heading exactly the same way and we're being lead by an equally weak, equally useless government.
Malmö: Fires and stone-throwing in Rosengård

April 29 2010

Some 20 police units were dispatched to the Rosengård district of Malmö to try to calm things down, after unrest broke out there on Wednesday evening.

A large number of young people gathered at Ramels road. Among other things, they set fire to a car, storage containers, a kiosk and a dressing room behind Rosengård’s school.

The fire department and rescue units needed police escorts to fight the fires in various parts of the district, since firefighters were exposed to stone-throwing.
The police believed that they had the situation under control later in the night, as the situation had calmed down and police could withdraw most of the 20 squads which had been dispatched.

During the night the police sent out an alert about rioting.

More copycats, or some weird sort of signal of things to come when Islamic numbers increase? Trial runs and training for the real thing? Police and army should come down on these scumbags and deport them without trial.

Muslim Terrorism Count

Thousands of Deadly Islamic Terror Attacks Since 9/11

Mission Overview

Most Western societies are based on Secular Democracy, which itself is based on the concept that the open marketplace of ideas leads to the optimum government. Whilst that model has been very successful, it has defects. The 4 Freedoms address 4 of the principal vulnerabilities, and gives corrections to them.

At the moment, one of the main actors exploiting these defects, is Islam, so this site pays particular attention to that threat.

Islam, operating at the micro and macro levels, is unstoppable by individuals, hence: "It takes a nation to protect the nation". There is not enough time to fight all its attacks, nor to read them nor even to record them. So the members of 4F try to curate a representative subset of these events.

We need to capture this information before it is removed.  The site already contains sufficient information to cover most issues, but our members add further updates when possible.

We hope that free nations will wake up to stop the threat, and force the separation of (Islamic) Church and State. This will also allow moderate Muslims to escape from their totalitarian political system.

The 4 Freedoms

These 4 freedoms are designed to close 4 vulnerabilities in Secular Democracy, by making them SP or Self-Protecting (see Hobbes's first law of nature). But Democracy also requires - in addition to the standard divisions of Executive, Legislature & Judiciary - a fourth body, Protector of the Open Society (POS), to monitor all its vulnerabilities (see also Popper).
1. SP Freedom of Speech
Any speech is allowed - except that advocating the end of these freedoms
2. SP Freedom of Election
Any party is allowed - except one advocating the end of these freedoms
3. SP Freedom from Voter Importation
Immigration is allowed - except where that changes the political demography (this is electoral fraud)
4. SP Freedom from Debt
The Central Bank is allowed to create debt - except where that debt burden can pass across a generation (25 years).

An additional Freedom from Religion is deducible if the law is applied equally to everyone:

  • Religious and cultural activities are exempt from legal oversight except where they intrude into the public sphere (Res Publica)"
