Its a long read and on the face of it seems like this country is making headway in the fight against terrorism. BUT if you read into a bit deeper you realize that is all recomendations really. I,m sure most of it will be torn apart by islamic lawfare.

This govenment like the one before it knows who the preachers of hate are, enough think tanks have done enough work on the subject. All university's should ban all radical preachers, all whabbi and other radical imams should be sent home, people who support finacially terrorist groups should be stripped of their assetts, and locked up. Thats my idea of PREVENT. Stop and deport illigal immigrants, stop giving money to any group with links to the muslim brotherhood, thats a preventitive measure.

More reports, is more time wasting, this country has laws to protect its citizen's, laws that should have been used years ago, but our leaders choose to prtect the rights of the Enemy over their own people.   

You wouldn't let a pidophile look after your children, and we wouldnot have allowed Hitler to station an ss division in East London. So why do we allow radical imams in to teach our children, and why do we allow Mega command centre's to be built in our citys. Untill our ministers can make the tough dicisions that are required, and that means closing down enemy base's in this country, and expeling the commanders we can and locking up those we can't, this is another strategy that is just not going to have enough teeth.

The people who put these stratergys togeather should skip of down t he yellow brick and ask the Wizard for some Balls.

The advise from the Henry Jackson Society was for us to alot further than the prevent review has recommended, and i feel in 5 years time we are going to wish we had taken that advice. When i get my copy of HJS input into the prevent stratergy i,ll post a review of that

I hope the major political parties will continue to cock it up. It will give the right wing parties the support they need to gain power. By right wing I mean patriotic English parties intent on righting wrongs.

We have all the political parties we need, what we don,t have is the right politicians in them. Its down to the public to be brave and vote in the people who will do the hard stuff. Like  stick up for this country!!!!! And send all radicals back to their country of birth. If not the nearest prison.  Let the radicals know there's no place for them here. Monitor all mosques, and make sure they,re teaching peace and understanding, if not, get the buldozer in.

Some one said tp me the other day they,d seen posters declearing a sharia area. A good test for the Prevent strategy.

 

Fundamentalists pledge to apply Shariaa in Britain

London, Asharq Al-Awsat- Hard-line fundamentalists have pledged to ban alcohol and gender mixing in new areas throughout the United Kingdom where Shariaa will be imposed. According to this plan, a large number of posters bearing the slogans “no gambling”, “no music and concerts”, “no nudity or vice”, and “no drugs and smoking” will be distributed. The posters announce “Beware: You are entering a Shariaa-controlled zone - Islamic rules enforced.”

The fundamentalists are scheduled to start the plan in Waltham Forest, part of the London City Council, later this month and they are also claiming that thousands of “Shariaa police” will monitor the compliance with the Shariaa rules in the streets.

Lawyer Anjem Choudary, former secretary general of Al-Muhajiroun and Al-Ghurabaa movements in Britain, has called for implementing this plan as an alternative to the government's attempts to combat violent extremism under the “prevention” strategy.

He told Asharq Al-Awsat that “there are 25 areas in Britain under the British antiterrorism law which were described as centers for extremists. But we will visit these areas in the suburbs of Birmingham and Manchester.” He added: As Islamists, we have a clear stand on gender mixing, taking drugs, gambling, vice, and concerts where everything becomes mixed up and also have a clear stand on democracy which we consider “unbelief.” He said “the Shariaa police will include others who do not belong to the fundamentalist trend.”

The former secretary general of Al-Muhajiroun, “Al-Ghurabaa, and Islam4UK warned “the antiterrorism strategy approved by British Home Secretary Theresa May will be confronted during the next two weeks starting with Waltham Forest where the campaign to distribute the posters about the Shariaa controlled zones will begin.” He added: “This means that the Muslim community in this zone will not tolerate drugs, alcohol, nudity, gambling, usury, or the free mixing of men and women which are the fruits of Western civilization.” He pointed out that “there will be a very intensive campaign to distribute the posters to Muslim and non-Muslim communities about what the Shariaa means economically, socially, and politically.”

He went on to explain that “a march will target Waltham Forest, including Walthamstow and Leyton. We will administer the zone as one under Shariaa and plant in the long term the seeds of an Islamic emirate. We wish to create a zone where Muslims can live together, deal among themselves, and interact with each other instead of interacting with society at large.” The former lawyer added “there are 25 zones in various parts of the country which the government has classified as ones suffering from the problem of violent extremism. We will go to these same zones which refuse to apply the Shariaa rules so as to apply them as this is the ideal way for dealing with the consumption of alcohol, vice, and the pattern of hooliganism in British cities. We are living among non-Muslims but should distinguish ourselves from them.”

Choudary announced in May plans to form Islamic “guardian angels” teams to help implement the Shariaa in various parts of the United Kingdom but changed his mind later on and came to believe that a “Shariaa police” would play a better role than the traditional police in maintaining order inside Muslim areas. Choudary said “we now have hundreds, and even thousands, throughout the country who are ready to go out into the streets on patrols for us and print between 10,000 and 50,000 posters for distribution.”

However, preacher Omar Bakri, founder of Al-Muhajiroun and “Al-Ghurabaa movements which were disbanded before he left Britain for Tripoli in north Lebanon after the 7/7 attacks in London, has told Asharq Al-Awsat “the true Muslim is required to implement what he can of the Shariaa in all matters of his life and to call on the society in which he lives to monotheism and apply Islamic Shariaa as it is the only divine one that is suitable for every place and age and has the divine cure for all the problems of man and humanity.” Bakri, who presented himself as “an expert in the Islamic movements' affairs and chairman of the Salaf Trend in Lebanon and member of the Shariaa committee”, added that “application of what is possible of Islamic Shariaa among Muslims in Europe is one of the practical examples of the call to turn to God.” He added that “the phenomenon of complying with Islam and converting to it in the West in general and in Britain in particular is best evidence that Islam is the Shariaa and principles spreading the most in the West.”

I cannot describe the reaction this engenders in me, it is beyond words and beyond feelings. The nearest I can get is to describe my reaction as one of impotent rage. I feel totally powerless in the face of a wrong that no one in power intends to do anything about. These are grounds to deport every single Muslim from Britain, Europe and America for treasonous activity. This is an arrogance and an intolerance beyond anything the so-called British racists have been accused of. They are setting up a seperate state encompassing 25 areas of our sovereign nation (Areas our police are already afraid to enter). That is, a foreign Islamic nation has moved unopposed into Britain and blatently declared its intention to conquer and subdue us piece by piece until all of Britain is an Islamic state. If there are not laws against what they are doing then it is time to create such laws. What do you call it when a foreign power invades your country and your own government offers no opposition? Insanity? betrayal?

Wading through this document i came across these two sentences, emphasis in the original:

The UK faces a range of terrorist threats. The most serious is from Al Qa’ida, its affiliates and like-minded organisations.

 

5.1 The current threat level to the UK from terrorism is SEVERE. This means that an attack is highly likely and could occur without warning at any time.

Given their own assesment I have not noticed any great mobilisation of the forces of the State to protect me, my family and other threatened people.

I'm sure you will be relieved to hear that a few days ago the threat level was downgraded to SUBSTANTIAL.

According to the policy, if extremist activity is dicovered, it should be tackled. The issue of the lady in Tower hamlets who worked in a local shop was put to the prevent speakers on wednesday. The lady for those that don,t know was told she should wear a burqa while she was at work, dispite the fact she is not a muslim.  Lord Carlise replied that the police should act....... Act in what way? to just say they should act! is a bit naive. If the women complains she gets more hassle, which is nthe case, and the police do nothing. The problems in tower hamlets are well known, but the police are not going to go in there and do diddley.

 

Its too late to run a prevent stratergy, because the problem of radicals is deep rooted, it started 30 years ago. We need a stop it in its tracks policy, where police go in to these areas long term and have an officer (or two) on every street corner and reclaim not just the power to police our streets, but the confidence of the public. The prevent stratergy has recognised the problems, but has no way of addressing those problems in the here and now.
