The markets are starting to react. Stock's down, gold up. 

I'm sure all the Tree huggers and Tapioca eaters are living it. People are refusing to fly. Summer holiday bookings are falling. 

This  virus will cause a lot of trouble until a vaccine is found. As this could be a year away, and as Heather says the chance the virus will mutate could push a vaccine further away, the trouble will be far reaching. 

Production of most of the products that drive world economy ould be halted. This will force a bit more quantitive easing. Can the world afford more of this free money.

Were only a few weeks into this crisis, and if a pandemic is declared by the Who, then we're gonna need lots of free money. Or do as the anti capitalist mob want. Just give it up. Things will surely get better all on there own.

This is a bit worrying:  

A virus will always mutate. Its what they do, because the RNA replication process is error prone. A problem we face is that as the number of infected increase, the number of mutation opportunities likewise increase. Some of those will result in worse transmission characteristics and that virus variant will fizzle out, but some might do the exact opposite and the virus with that mutation will thrive. Last time I spotted a comment on this (and I can't now find the link) I was seeing the number of variants in low 20's. I'm guessing with 80K plus infected, the variant count will be substantially higher.

Virus behaviour is a bit like a search engine in this regard. The more chances it has, the more likely it is that it will stumble onto a real improvement... from its point of view.

So far, 4 of the patients brought back from Japan have now tested positive. That means more will have it because of the way air is circulated on planes.

The people with the virus would have had it before they left for the UK, yet it was undetected. 

It's a ticking time bomb. The world economy is so fragile I'm sure the leaders are making a concerted effort to ignore this out break.

Just a thought. If China contains this outbreak. And I'm sure they don't care how many of their citizens die. Then it could be China will be left in a very powerful position. They produce most of the world's pharmaceuticals. Nevermind everything else the world needs.

Thanks Joe. Iran has got corona and canada is expected to. Like you say we just have to expect it to come to where we live. Good luck to you all. Fill bottles with water and be sure to obtain a means to boil water if the power fails, and get in some tasty food as well as the staples. Being isolated can be very boring so get in books and things to occupy yourself with. Finding a place where you can go for fresh air walks without meeting people is also necessary. Fortunately I live out of town and as I have said have lots of firewood. It does not look like it is going to spare anyone this virus.

One must expect the UK to handle this far more incompetently than China.  Our NHS staff will stop turning up for work if they feel they are at risk. 

Many of those who even use the word "coronavirus" on a YouTube video are being demonetized i.e. the corporate fascists ONLY want the official line to be heard.

I've been away elsewhere doing a lot of work on the virus outbreak (and also was physically away visitng family).  Was also helping Tommy with information for his upcoming talks in Russia, Germany, Norway, etc.

Coronavirus is as bad as I was saying weeks ago. Italy and Korea are now in states of emergency.  Korea can't work out how their "super spreader" got infected.  In Italy a 38yo man in critical condition now had dinner 3 weeks earlier with a friend who came back from China.

UK has gone from "kiosks" at every hospital (a stupid idea) to "stay away and a doctor will visit and test you" (a better idea but probably won't result in a test).

20% who get this need ICU.  Of those who get ICU as many as 50% will still die.  Of those who don't get ICU --- there's no data for their death rate.

UK has 6 ICU beds per 100,000 people.  Germany has 30.  UK has got fewer ICU beds than Slovakia.

There's every reason to believe this is now circulating in Paris, London, etc.  Whether or not there are cases in ICU yet we don't know (maybe they have a D-Notice in the UK). 

Weeks ago they said that London was the No.1 European city that will suffer an outbreak.  Yet we hear nothing (I have seen video of someone being taken into hospital by staff in hazmat suits -- reputedly Ealing Hospital).

Stock up with stuff so you don't have to leave the house for 30 to 60 days (yes, that's what the best non-establishment authority is saying about this - the guys predictions have been proven right since Jan 24th).  At some point we are likely to need to not go out.

Once this thing has taken root in a handful of countries there's no way to stop everyone getting it.  You need to start looking at how you can help your body fight it, especially if you are over 50.

Abbott just confirms my theory that stupid people are too stupid to understand that they are stupid. I think they learn by heart phrases that give an illusion of meaning and then reiterate them endlessly.

Good song Tony. We are stupiding ourselves to death. The song "In the year 2525" also says a lot. I do not lose faith though, I am determined to enjoy life in spite of it all. And given the legal chance I would kill the bastards that are offending me.
They cannot tolerate or admit the debt that they owe us Alan these third rate human beings. If they did they would have to admit that white people were OK but then they would have to admire us and that is intolerable to them. And so they retreat into the fantasy that they themselves are somehow superior. Problem is there is no evidence to support the claim. I could name off hand at least a dozen British geniuses that achieved extraordinary things. Add to that the rest of Europe's genius. Nothing compares to it. I admire certain cultures past and present but nothing compares to what we have achieved, and continue to achieve.
There is nothing wrong with you Tony, you are a normal Englishman as I am, it is the insanity on the streets of Britain that is wrong. That is completely and utterly loony, just the way the police behave or who we have installed some mayors in our cities= total insanity. You have to live a good life in spite of it all and take care of yourself. I am very angry about it all and do what I can in my little way to spread sanity.
