A new Crusade commenced August 18, 2009 with the posting of the International Qur'an Petition
At the time of this writing, 65 people have signed the petition.
The petition is an indictment of Islam on charges of human rights violations which are intrinsic to its canon of scripture, tradition. & jurisprudence. The relevant provisions of international human rights covenants are juxtaposed with relevant quotes from Islam's canon. The quotes are linked to source for easy verification and, where applicable, contextual exploration.
The petition prays to the World Court for injunctive relief. Of course there is no real possibility of the case being heard on its merits or relief being granted. But the petition is a clear, concise explanation of the attributes which render Islam absolutely intolerable. As such, it can serve as a powerful educational and motivational instrument
Signatories are urged to copy and paste the petition into an email and send it to their entire downstream with an exhortation to sign & forward it.
A blog post
containing the full text of the cited quotes is also available in the form of a 71kb pdf file which may be cross posted and used as an email attachment.
A 64kb chm file
, compiled from half a dozen blog posts, details Islam's violation of ICERD, ICCPR. & CPPCG.
Racism, conquest, murder, rape, slavery & genocide make Islam intolerable & subject to abolition under international law. Now is the time to push this issue. We have a huge public education task to complete before anything good can happen in the real world. Propagation of the International Qur'an petition can be the first step in informing and activating our fellow citizens.
From October 19-30, the Ad Hoc Committee on Complementary Standards meets to formulate their proposed protocol to ICERD. That protocol will criminalize our criticism of Islam. Unlike the annual Defamation of Islam
resolutions passed by the General Assembly & UNHRC, the protocol will be enforcible international law.
Are you going to sit idly by while our First Amendment rights are contravened, or are you going to raise truth?
After learning about the committee, I wrote a series of blog posts about it.
Now I have created and posted the International Qur'an Petition and its supporting documents. I cross posted it on ten blogs, and I created a Facebook group which has grown to 136 members.
To have any chance of eventual success, this Crusade needs more Knights to carry it to the world. Signing the petition is the first step. If you will follow up by emailing the petition to everyone you can hope to influence, exhorting them to sign and forward it, it just might catch the media's eye. Imagine the effect it could have if it begins to peak while the Committee is meeting!
